We can see the biggest difference between Arlong and Hody around 14:00. When Arlong accidentally got one of his own men hit he was furious, but Hody used one of his men to block an attack. He doesn’t care about even his own people.

@@crissinbon Yeah, Arlong had experienced the hatred of humanity and the violence they caused. He had friends and allies who had gone through the worst that humanity could dish out. The man he looked up to the most was a casualty of humanity's hate and disdain for fishman lives. It doesn't excuse his actions, but it explains them. Hordy had no explanation and reason for his actions - he was just following generational hatred. Fishman island had a very strong story to tell about how hate spreads and infects those who see others involved in it. It's horrifying and terribly tragic to see how children grow up in the shadows of that hate and how it can twist them into senseless beings of hate themselves, carrying on the darkness in the hearts of those around them for no reason at all. I know people hated Fishman Island arc but I never really understood that. It was an amazing mirror to the world and the things that we've seen happen. It had a strong message and even when reading week to week it was gripping. Though I was always of the opinion that Skypeia was one of the better arcs (and it remains one of my faves) and a lot of people hate that too. Like, I love Marineford and Enies Lobby and Water 7 and all, but I also really liked Skypeia and FI.

@@zopro480 Hody at the final battle of the arc, in water against zoro without a Bubblesuit, would be High diff for Zoro, if Zoro is lucky. Zoro gets much stronger from this arc up to Wano and during Wano. Dont underestimate Overdosed Hody and dont overestimate early timeskip Zoro.

I really like the idea of dormant genetics in Fish/Merfolk. Like, it's also a thing that we have - genes that pop up from time to time further down the line. This is just amplifying the physical aspect of it by a lot to make it more apparent. In humans, you could get your great grandfather's red hair even though everyone else in the family is blonde or brunette - because that gene combined with another to express itself in you - just a combination of the right code to spit out a red-haired kid. For fishfolk/merfolk your great grandma may have been a white shark mermaid and suddenly you're now having a kid with white shark genetics. It's a fascinating geneological idea for a race of peoples. X3

Nah but like people don't put enough respect on this scene, zoro just violated a fishman underwater, they're already 10 times stronger than regular humans to begin with, this multiplies underwater and humans are only half as strong (although this doesn't make much sense because in real life a human underwater is probably like 20 times weaker overall, especially in the speed department). Zoro would still violate the hordy that luffy fought, baffles me how people were debating back then if zoro could've beaten the final boss instead, like bruh he would legit low diff him, destroying a fishman underwater is already a feat as it is, but this was hordy, stronger than arlong and he fucked him up underwater.
