Potassium Permanganate (PP) 3min Dip on Discus

Potassium Permanganate (PP) Dip = 3minutes @ 0.32gram (1/24 tsp) per 5gallons.
Water Color: Dark Purple = Active, Red/Brown = Exhausted
Big water change to clear PP from bucket/tank (hydrogen peroxide or Seachem Prime can be used to deactivate PP)

Thanks for posting this! Assuming that the potassium permanganate is pure, 0.32 grams in 5 gallon dip would be a concentration of 16.8 mg/L (assuming my calculations are correct). Likely more like 4 gallons is placed into a 5 gallon bucket so the concentration would be higher. Thanks again for posting this.

as needed but I wouldnt do it more than once in a week. it is best as a once or twice treatment.

Sandy cheeks 4hr bath is 2mg/L or .076gram per 20gallons

Norman Robitaille I did on my community planted tank, no issue at all, I’ve use 1g PP per 100gal. Hop this help.

I personally would not. If you can put the fish in buckets that would be best.

Yes that means the pp is done and change water 25-30,% or hydrogen peroxide depends on your tank size will clear the water
