God, I just thought of something: in the original ducktales show, one of the Beagle Boys brings an armor suit that can “stop an 84 mm shell”. Scrooge brings in a tank, and “that’s one millimeter too many!” Quite literally, that situation happens all day every day in this game.

I have a feeling this will be my favorite superbattleship. It's tanky, but the guns aren't gimped like Ushakov's. And it has workable AA, no ridiculously stupid F key that gives laserbeam dispersion. It also must be said that this is a very beautiful ship Edit: Should also be noted that Maine's citadel is protected by some spaced armor and is also fairly well sloped like Kremlin's, so odds are it won't take citadels unless very close from bigger guns

fun fact Kremlin's slope is 20 degrees like Yamato. What makes her stronger is i think she has a 20mm deck armor just behind the belt, which should be kinda high with certain angles

I cringe when I see super heavy battleships, with no thick armor belts, like the Monty. This ships armor scheme looks like the Patrie’s, but that’s repair gimmick consumable is great.

Once you have the combat instruction available, it looks like you can use the damage control as soon as you get lit on fire; if you get relit your combat instructions last long enough for your damage control to reload.

Honestly, if this thing got triple gun turrets it would be the most gorgeous ship ever. Those sleek decks, the single funnel pyramidal super structure, the low waterline and the classic iowa bow is just utter perfection HAD IT NOT FOR THOSE CUBICAL QUAD TURRETS ARGHHHHHH

@@5er301 super structure not as triangular and looks like a bunch of uneven towers afar. Maine however has the peak shape for a superstructure.

@@5er301 Maine has lengthened Iowa hull not Montana. through that makes another ship that's super version of tier 9 instead of tier 10, just like Novosibirsk is Super Riga hull wise

@@leemarcus6123 The better secondary model definitely goes to Monty, tho. The boxy mk.16 gun turrets on Monty looks better than the spheric mk.42 gun turrets on Maine. I guess you could argue that the twin mk.16 turret being much larger is a major contributor to the uneven superstructure layout on Montana, but spheric and unmanned design of the mk.42 guns are really out of style for a gun battleship.

Hizen is pronounced "hee-zen". In Japanese, "i" is always a long vowel, even when combined with other vowels like "ie", which sounds like "ee-ay". The long i is usually blended into the other vowel by native speakers, but is technically distinct.

I don't think the OP is correct on this. I did Japanese in high school. While the 'I' can be long it's when there is a flat line over the 'I' - this,is also true of 'o'. Most Japanese words are pronounced in two letter combinations so Hizen so it's Hi- zen.

Funnily enough on Console the Montana is the Super Tier ship, and the Maine is the T8, T8 being the tier 9-10. And the Maine on console has 10 guns in 2x2 and 2x3. Very funny to see.

@@dukeofhazard420 true. There’s a captain that increases citadel damage by 17.5 percent i’m pretty sure. So my Georgia Citadel is like 23k or something banana’s cuz there’s another trait that you can put on that commander from another commander that increases damage dealt by 20% or something when a fighter plane is up. Really arcade like. My Worcester has like 9km AA with 2000 average damage per second. High tier CV’s get an ability that reduces incoming damage by 50% on their planes

Looks like she's very consistent. Consistent tanking, plenty of big guns with decent enough dispersion to consistently slap even very angled targets. I'd love to see some games against carriers.

On paper (stats) she screams that Maine would be scary to take on (and she is, kinda) But in action, she tends to be like a mean, barking dog behind a fence that will bite you badly if the WG RNG didn't hold her back (dispersion). Overall she will eventually be available to all via tech line grinding. Auction is NOT worth your credits

I may be in the Super Minority but I have always found the Monty to be the game's best BB and now I get a Super Ship version....sign me up. I will bid my entire credit wallet at this Maine.

Seriously just wait for it to hit the general availability on the tech tree where will be available for credits anyway. It is going to be SuperShip for the Montana line so not as if is going to rare ship that can only get via Santa crates etc.

Its funny that WoW Legends has the New Jersey at T7 and Maine at T8 . The Montana is still out top tier ( legendary tier or T10 on pc ) with us just getting the Ohio recently at legendary .

Wouldn't improved repair party readiness be a good option on this ship as it handles fires so well - I'm not sure if the cycling improves the rate of relaoding the combat instructions but if it does that would seem to be a great combination.

It's a bit funny since Maine's secbat and superstructure is kinda what Illinois/Kentucky's was supposed to be if they went through with the quad 203 rebuild from what I read with the superstructure a bit further back and the twin funnels trunked together to a single larger funnel to make it more compact. Rather than Illinois just being a gunswapped Iowa like currently.

Not sure that 4 more guns makes up for a .2 sigma loss and a 5 second longer reload (which does translate to more shots 2.19 secs per shot vs 2.5 in Montana)

Those Modern Austin Secondaries and the way those AA guns look makes me think they are meant for shooting down Missiles. Like their Radar Guided Secondaries and AA guns.

As with many american AP, the shells are heavier. I found firing slightly above the deck line into the super structure gets more shells in line for a citadel chance... But this is WG. The RNG on American AP is so crazy because when they do connect and cit... its big PP damage.

I believe you did world of warships legends a few times but we also got Maine but our Maine is very different instead of a supership and having 16 guns our main is a tier 8 with 10 guns

Finally a Super BB with a defensive Funny Button(TM). Been wanting one since forever as Super BBs like Ushakov and Hannover aren’t really worth it because of their huge size just making them damage piñatas to be farmed, with their increased HP really meaning nothing since Fire/Flooding damage scales. Might actually get her once she is released proper. 🤔

the entire German BB mainline should have had this gimmick. they would have had great HE resistance without investing so much points into the tank build while sparing enough points for a secondary build

I wonder why WG have yet not put a captain like Nimitz in the game. There's just Halsey and he was kindaaaa... a fessacchiotto, if I can say that. Nimitz was actually a great admiral and mostly the true responsable for the American victory in the Pacific. Alongside with few others.

Historically the American Ships especially BB’s had Monstrous AA it was very very very hard to take out or seriously damage a American Ship Historically Speaking…🤷🏻‍♂️👍
