Honestly, I never thought to apply the underwater movements of the devine beast to the underground/underwater possibilities of TotK. Cool idea.

Basically it's just everything where you thought something big will happen but you only got a shrine. Example is the dragon you freed. Or where you throw the snowball to unlock a shrine. You can clearly see that this should have been a huge dungeon or have a secret. Or where the huge hylia statue is. Nice video. Thank you.

Really enjoyed this videos deep dive! I think twilight princess is my favorite LoZ. I think it had the most unique tools and uses for those tools more than any zelda. An example to point to is the iron boots separately from the use for movement underwater it also was used with magnetism. So I am hoping that for underwater movement link gets an old brass diving set of helmet air tank and iron boots. I like this idea because it leaves the ability for magnet puzzles that trap link if he is wearing too much of the armor. Also I am hoping for some kind of save file transfer that allows people that beat the first game to have things maybe like the master cycle or the zora armor so having a diving suit would be more interesting that a different zora armor imo

Here's an idea. What if all the towers and shrine entrances have retracted back into the ground and their locations are all going to be access points to the underground?

I do not believe we will have mass underground exploration. I do believe caves will replace the god awful shrines as mini dungeons and a couple traditional dungeons might be located underground but as far as that goes all we’ve seen is ganondorf under the castle which we could easily figure that out during botw gameplay and creating a champion.

@@_itsmunah On the other hand the only expansions explicitly mentioned by Nintendo officially (I think the director made the statement) are the sky and the underground. So it isn't out of the question to think underground exploration will be at least as expansive as the sky islands themselves. Still crossing my fingers for underwater exploration, too. Though they could be counting that as part of "below Hyrule".

What if in Lurlin Village there’s a quest where you collect springs, bolts, wood and boat oars to construct a ship for the ocean. And so you don’t abuse the ship and use it in the rivers it can be explained away that the rivers are too shallow for it

I honestly don't believe any islands came from the ground. None of the flora or architecture matches and new caves we see in trailers just sort of appear without any sign of disturbance.

Underwater exploration, FISHING WITH A ROD, and I’d pay double to revisit a proper sailing mechanism like in Wind Waker. Love to venture away from the main map to some far off islands

I just thought of a fun little side quest or even a major part of the game that involves befriending animals like dogs where once you've befriended you, they lead you to treasure or other important places even as a way of unlocking new areas

You mentioned the old Hyrule Castle. Based on the orientation of the Temple of Time, isn't the Eastern Abbey a good candidate for being the old castle?

Yeah, I spaced on that location. It’s been so long since I heard about it. Seeing as the castle was demolished at some point and replaced with the abbey it would be interesting to find out what happened to it. I highly doubt we’ll see it in TotK just a random idea I had while thinking what could be under the plateau.

-From what I recall the abbey was supposedly apart of old castle town and the path leading to it- *Edit* I take that back, after looking at the area more closely the abbey does resemble the placement of the castle. It’s been awhile since I heard about that idea. I highly doubt we will see the old castle it’s probably long gone by now lol.

Yeah, the Eastern Abbey is the old Hyrule Castle. Hyrule Castle Town from OoT would almost be in front of the Temple of Time. You can even see the fountain that was in the center of the OoT Castle Town, then the guard house leading up to the old castle, making the Eastern Abbey the actual castle remains. I've seen a lot of people forgetting this tbh.

Before that last trailer I’d hate that idea. However, the car and flying machine has me hyped! A jet ski doesn’t seem that outlandish now.

Hmm, it could maybe be repurposed to prepare Link for the fight against Ganondorf. A training ground for the hero to learn new techniques from Maz or something? I could also see Purah and Robbie using the shrine as a home base to tinker on new tech for us to use. I’m kinda curious what happened to the floating island we fought Maz on. Will it still be in the sky come TotK? What are your ideas?

I've always been of the mindset that the Sheikah shrines went so far beneath Hyrule, they would bypass any sort of caves already existing. Maybe we'd see that shaft that it goes down, in a cave just under the Shrine of Resurrection

I like the theory at the end but does this mean Zelda cuts her hair on the way over there? I'd have to imagine at least some time goes by before Totk, a year or so would be great. I'd love to see terry town as a thriving metropolis.

I’m guessing Link and Zelda needed time to prepare for both journeys. The one to Zora’s Domain and then back to Hyrule Castle. I’d imagine after being sealed within CG for 100 years she’d need some r&r, a bath, and a haircut. About a years sounds about right. It’s going to be so much fun figuring all of this stuff out once Nintendo starts dropping more info. Seeing that would be epic! Mayor Hudson lol.

Apparently the clawshot was actually planned to be in Breath of the Wild, but it was scrapped later in development because it ended up making the climbing mechanic almost obsolete.

Some time must’ve passed in between these events. I’m thinking like a year or so. Zelda probably needed at least a few months to recharge after being sealed inside CG for 100 years. I’m sure we’ll find out more soon.

That’s far from the truth you really think that the Zelda team made a new Zelda taking the longest time ever to create one and not bring back such a classic simple thing there is no way in hell they only added some sky islands taking 6 years to develop the game

I had an idea of a theory: what if the zonai can only guide from the darkness. This would make sense because of the dark ruins north of the korok forest where there are zonai ruins. Some zonai statues also have luminous stones in the eyes, and luminous stones only light up in darkness. Also, the whole theme of the sequel is that hyrule has dropped into darkness as Zelda is shown to have fallen, and Ganon is supposedly back. The zonai start to have an influence only when this happens. The zonai and sequel are also focused on courage, and the zonai may need to help link find courage in the darkness to bring light back to hyrule.

Do you think we could imagine hyrule like 10 Times bigger than it is in botw. I thought of abt this because ofc for a game its very big but for a kingdom small.

Wouldn't be the first time in the series; Zelda 2 had Hyrule spread out over multiple continents, which is something that hasn't been seen in the series ever since.
