Russians are trying to spread fear among their soldiers, that Ukrainians are killing all captives or anybody, who wants to surrender, to avoid massive surrender of unexperienced newly mobilized Russian soldiers. The more Russians surrendered, the more Ukrainian lives will be saved.

They got the numbers/good cover fire. Plus who knows how long the battle was to push forward to the trench, I'm sure they have the "feel" of the situation. finally, there is no sound which adds much more situation awareness. Maybe the Russians hadn't fired back for a long time.

I honestly felt like it was a little sloppy at first, Im not a soldier but they should have been aiming while on approach. Its common thing to be told is that you ALWAYS point your gun in the direction your facing. You look lefy you move your gun left.

@@Cwg. i agree its a little sloppy but for different reasons. at 1:12 when he receives fire he responds immediately with good suppression, but that turns into a blind fire of inaccurate shots. instead of trying to conceal himself behind the trees, which a bullet would go right through, he probably should have jumped into the trench for cover and suppressed over top of where the trench curves. also walking outside of the treeline is asking for a sniper bullet. rifle should be pointed in the general area of the most active threat, with the barrel towards the ground. moving the gun where you look is a safety issue for everyone, called muzzle sweeping. if you bring your gun left because you look left, everyone from your 12 o'clock to 9 o'clock is getting a gun pointed at them. this way friendlies can walk infront of you and beside you without risk of getting shot, when you see a potential threat all it takes is a simple lift of the muzzle to be on target. it also can be harder to spot movement with the gun fully raised as generally it restricts your field of view to that of the sight picture of the gun.

it neeeds to be completely logistically and economically untenable for them to stay in Ukraine in order to get them to leave. The Russians have an extremely high tolerance for military losses, much higher than in western countries. I doubt that's a viable strategy for getting them to pull out.

By presenting just one side people's opinions get skewed. I typically consider this as part of the propaganda effort. I've watched enough Ukraine videos that has not been censored to know both sides commit a lot of atrocities. Bakhmut and Vuhledar has been a focus on a lot of those atrocity in the recent months.
