In this one game the head person in charge of hack prevention was the one who created a hacking network so that he could rmt the in game money and knew exactly how to bypass

So annoying in retail too, and it's not cuz of hacks it's that you were 30 seconds behind someone else.

They did a better job almost 20 years ago, but why get in the way of a nice excuse for the WoW token.

They can't get rid of the botters, those botters pay subscriptions, and those subscription numbers look really good on paper. It's all about the numbers, I'd imagine 1/4 of WoW's population would be gone if the botters left.

​@@hibernian87They used to take care of these issues a long time ago back when WoW was at its peak because there were so many paying subs they will remove the bots/hackers. But since WoW doesn't have the subs numbers they used to. These bot/hackers are still playing a sub, so removing them would be removing Blizzard's source of income.

Play Albion online they had problem with bot lately first time since release, and they dealt with it swiftly. Gms are not afk, great game with great economy.

They only ban normal players. If you play with bot you dont get banned. Botting is allowed on blizz servers, normal playstyle is not.

I got a mute once because I was leader in an AV and a premade joined and just spammed me with abuse/ bannable slurs to get Leader and then openly started saying to/and reporting me to get me kicked, and my Mute was upheld because I called them Children.

Best way to explain how Blizzard customer service is so horrible (aside from people being underpaid and understaffed) is that they use some automated system to rank workers and they basically have to game the system. When they spam those boilerplate template responses to tickets, they're tickets served goes crazy high compared to someone actually helping people. They seem to even have developed a method of sniping a "DM wants to chat with you" while you are clearly stuck in login screen and/or que and they can file your case as "could not reach" instead of having to spend the time to actually help you. If this is true, Blizzard has managed to create a system where workers are forced to treat the actual productive part of their job as "hot potato" or otherwise they're the one who gets cut due to metrics saying they're the worst performing employee in the department.

I unsuscribed 2 days ago from Classic era, even that is feeling like a gdkp fest, I joined gdkp discord just to see what it was about and there we people posting their personal toons character's portrait with name/gear and gold ammount to bring to raid, usually around 5-10k minimun, everyone is skipping content at this point, there are many player with 3 letter names like Akv, Lds and the so, it seems that the only people left playing at this point are either the ultra try hards and retail players that can't be bothered to level up and buy mage boost groups.

On official HC servers where there will be an AH and consumes become the HC meta, we will be seeing similar things happening again

@@mitchelldittes2555 At lvl 60 u CAN trade.. i did full aq40 cthun naxx etc on unofficial HC and it was honestly the best WoW experience ever, not just HC. The community is great, everyone is helping each other, giving away mats they dont need since they cant sell them on AH..

There is a reason no one talks anymore in WoW. Blizzard killed their own community with the report player option autoban. Meanwhile Blizzard has made it harder to report the bots because you can't do a /who or report someone you know is botting/flyhacking.

I remember the first time I saw that they implement auto-report feature in classic wow, and knowing how people can harass you in classic wow, especially with black lotus, devilsaurs, fire elemental farms, bracket braking. Instantly knew people are going to abuse this and just ban players this way. Horrible system.

Of course, easily... you can literally group with everyone around you at any time, there is no PVP. Experienced players who minmax the leveling will cruise to 60 super fast not even mentionning AH and trade at this point, they will twink any alt

​@@Zlebouffon People would have to accept you as part of a group of which the exp is negligible and exceptionally negligible in dungeons with higher level characters running you through. The correlation that there be a ratio of experienced hardcore players = to potential botters is also absurd. Lastly you'd need to make the gold or need things traded to you which again would require people to be at the top percentile of Hardcore players to even accomplish. In all cases you'd have to at the very least play through Hardcore to a very advanced extent that majority of the player base which we have the data to prove this are not capable of doing.

Chinese gold farmers are better than average players. They aren't top tier, but they'll get to 60 because it earns them a living.

In shattwrath you can blink under the map no hacking required. So if you did that you would get some innocents too. Games poorly coded so there are other places where you can fall threw the world so it wouldn't work.

@@TotheSoundOfThunderingEngines part of my comment talks about just making to where if your character model goes below a threshold that bases itself off the ground floor you get teleported back to a graveyard or nearest city. This doesn’t hurt innocent players, it actually helps them, while also blocking cheating scum from doing what they do.

It really isn’t hard. Triggers could easily auto kill anyone below the terrain line.
