The thing is, if you can get a couple rogues to wait for this one rogue to grief, and kill him, he goes back to tirisfal glades. The difference between current hardcore and official is that there will always be a risk for everyone in official.

The best thing about hardcore is that it made some things relevant again that I enjoyed in the past but were mad totally irrelevant by time. Like with lowbie gear it actually feels amazing to get an upgrade, especially if it's a weapon, but in Modern WoW now we all have hierlooms and even if you don't then you can just use a main to grab some greens from a dungeons or something. I wish they'd flesh out the profs a little more, cos engineering is basically the only good one in Classic, and alchemy is useful for the solo challenge, but crafting Profs are pointless. By the time you grind out the mats for any gear actually useful to you, you'll have outleveled the gear's usefulness. Like for example I was doing a run where I went hard on LW at the beginning and thought I'd have easy upgrades and even some amazing cool upgrades as I leveled, but what actually happened is that by the time I could make the gear it was already useless. Like I picked up a couple patterns in Silverpine for armour that needed Murloc Scales. The armour is lvl 15, but the Murlocs are level 18, so in HC you're probably not gonna fight them until you are also level 18, and then you need to grind-out the scales, by which time you are now level 19 or 20 for a level 15 piece of gear and you could have just done a level 20 quest for a better piece

You can't attack pvp flagged players like this in HC. In the interview they stated that you have to explicitly type /pvp to flag and then you can attack enemy players. For exactly this reason, to avoid grieving.

The most important thing to do is to fix trading and grouping. If every beneficial interaction has to be Done within your level range (and items only tradeable once). Then you cant boost or buy advantages too easily. That means that griefers has to take huge risks that takes a long time getting back from if they fail (imagine getting anti-ganked by a group of 60s etc).

I don't think turning off PvP for the entire server should be a solution. Either give each person an option to personally disable PvP (i.e even if you try to attack a pvp enabled player it won't let you) Or give a confirmation box before you enter PvP combat if you try to attack a pvp enabled player.

With no appeal system in place, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they disable pvp on the official server (outside of mak'gora). Of course that wouldn't stop people from luring dangerous mobs into low level areas.. Better hire Hitman to duo with you.

Can't see playing on an official blizz hc server if there's no appeals. Between the bugs, dcs and griefing, it would just be a colossal waste of time. Hopefully the people who run the Hardcore addon keep it active after blizz rolls out their hc servers.

Smart! PvP disabled but being able to duel each other. That can be smart! Kiting high lvl mobs and feint death can be hard to escape though.. Or can they change that system somehow?

If everyone is hardcore it will be a lot harder for griefers, once they get killed they'll have to relevel their grief character. Let the players deal with them.

this wont be possible on official servers, the only way you can get flagged is killing opposite faction npc in towns.

Tame a pet with stealth -> Name it after a mob -> Control beast and stealth to the named mobs location or just aggro a bunch of mobs with control beast. Even without glitches hunters were made for griefing..
