Once, during Cataclysm, I remember seeing my friend logged into his toon. I messaged him for like 20 minutes and when he never got back to me I called him and asked him 'why tf arent you talking to me?' and he said he wasnt even online. 10 minutes later he logs in and some one had been farming stuff on his account... He had a buttload of end game materials on the character and he quickly changed his PW. What a time to be alive.

I had the same thing happen in wrath. Got a call from a friend. "Aren't you at work? Because you're logged into wow." By the time I finished work, got home, and logged in. All my shit was gone and the characters were deleted. But I had level 1 toons on 50 different servers. I'm assuming they were for spamming. Luckily though, this was back when you could actually call blizz via the phone and speak to a real person. They have me back all my shit and I ended up with some extra enchanting mats because they disenchanted what they couldn't sell.

That happened to me in WOTLK. A friend called me at like 5am from norway (im in a complete different country) saying i was running naked in dalaran doing the same route all the time. LOgged in and my char was with nothing but a lot of herbs mats.

I remember i got scammed for one of my purple gems in cata, submitted a ticket and he got banned for a while I think lmao. Good times

@@10runescape thats just a load of BS. Blizzard does not tell if you they banned someone. All you got was a confirmation email that they received your complain thats it. The rest is just pure guesswork on your end.

I remember once as a SM level noob in retail vanilla, I found this priest in trade who was going to DE some greens from SM for me. He DE them outside the SW auction house, opened trade then logged off I never saw him again lol. As a noob I cried bloody murder like the worst thing in the world happened even though it was just a few low lvl greens lol

Not a scam.. but when i was 14 iwas the biggest wow noob ever. I reached lvl 48 smth and i looked up a grinding guide, it told me to go to azshara (i think) and grind the lvl 52 ish blood elves there (classic with belfs yes) i was farming this for what felt an eternity. At some point i see another guy killing the same mobs. So i invite him to my group (no idea why think i was Just lonely) the 3rd mob i killed while the guy was in my group dropped an epic staff(it had a spinning ring with a green flame coming from it, i forgot the name), but we had to roll for it, he needed aswell. Took the staff and left the group. Safe to say i was the most angry 14 yo in the world at that time. I raged so hard.

I remember scamming a guy out of the mats for a Lionheart Helm. I used them to make the gear for myself. Well, dude reported me and I lost the helmet and was suspended for several days, as I recall.
