No word about the asset inflation fuelled by the central banks during decades, the devastating impact on economy and society, and how these inflationary forces are now ravaging in the CPI world. Defensive and pathetic at the same time.

thank you for amizing discussion, some information about Philip curves that defines the inflation rate are missing , there fore, getting the exact measurements on how the inflation rate affect the supply shock in the equilibrium market is difficult.

They have not even acknowledged that the excessive centralization in these economies are seriously inflationary. Big oil always plans refinery maintenance to optimize the rise in the price. The large shipping oligopolies stopped moving empty continer boxes out of the Port of LA because they generated more by billing clients when they had to leave there products on the ships. That’s inflation from poorly regulated monopolies.

Augustine's points were coherent and insightful. In reference to the similarities with the 1970s, another critical point is China. It wasn't the superpower it is today back then. Factor China in supply chain and other consideration s or complexities today and things are very different, considably so.
