I love the Red/Silver/Turquoise colourway of this 2022 Powell Peralta, Steve Caballero 'Chinese Dragon' reissue skateboard deck.
Deck Information:
"After a six year run, it was time to change up Caballero's deck graphic. Just in time for the filming of the Animal Chin video in 1986, a new dragon graphic was created for Cab. Now known as the Cab Chinese Dragon, the artwork was inspired by a Chinese takeout box and finally illustrated by VCJ. The Chinese Dragon came on a new "fish" shape in full size and mini. It was produced as 7-ply maple and also "Bonite" construction. It was discontinued in 1987."

You would have fitted right into our street when I was a kid, I had a quarter pipe and my neighbour had a quarter pipe, we would sometimes put them together on his driveway so we had a half pipe. I snapped a deck or two doing bonelesses off the top.

Sounds like some perfect summers to me. So many good memories. We had some super sketchy launch ramps that we built and I'm pretty sure they didn't meet the building code lol.

Another great video of another great deck… but I’m looking forward to seeing the non-Powell Peralta decks too. I wasn’t intending to start collecting decks, but I pre-ordered a couple series 14 decks, and then set up a new Steve Saiz to skate (video coming soon), and then I got one of the 100 just released H-Street Matt Hensley street sign swinger decks (my favorite from back in the day). And now Skate One has 25% off their site through Memorial Day… Must. Exercise. Restraint. 😂

Lol...welcome to the mayhem! Everyone starts with getting the decks they or their friends had as kids then it quickly escalates. A lot cheaper than bikes though. I look forward to the Saiz video👊🏼

Love that deck! Any idea what dictates the window of availability on these decks? Also love to hear the reason why mostly PP . Great videos always look forward for new content from 80s LOVE

Dude...that's a great question. I know in Canada we don't see many so most don't last long. It seems like the window is really small unless it's a colourway or deck that people aren't interested in. It would also be interested to know 'Run' numbers for the general releases because it feels like some of these decks/colourways are gone in seconds. Maybe PP produces less than the BB Series even...which might make them more collectible🤔Would be interesting to find out. Regarding why Powell...I've been thinking about doing a video on how I've managed to get a free collection and this topic would definitely be a part of it. Appreciate the comment👊🏼

Great graphic in a great colourway! I kinda think this graphic should've been used for the series 14? Cab's board looks quite sparse and almost out of place compared to the rest of the series 14 lineup.

I fully agree. The 'Dragon on Bearing' looks odd compared to the rest. Early 80s vs Mid 80s.
