Being able to watch ohtani is a gift in itself. No other player will be like him. Dominant pitcher, such a solid powerful hitter, speed on the bases. I mean hes a rare gift to the game of baseball and I'm blessed to be able to watch this man play. Coming from a yankee fan.

I've never really understood why pitchers were so bad at hitting. I assumed since as a pitcher themselves they can more easily read small body movements that can give away a pitch. My guess was that the coaches made them focus more on pitching training and skipping batting practices to focus more on pitching... I also assumed they want to conserve the pitchers energy. I can see the logic in not wanting your pitcher using arm strength and energy on swinging for the fences... but training them to be efficient enough to at least be a good enough contact hitter to not be DH'd seems just as good if not better. Turns a pitcher into a run earner instead of someone you expect to stop runs earned.

He's a .272 hitter.....Not what I would call an Awesome Major League Player. Home runs....his high was 22 in 2018 then dropped to 18 the following year. EXTREMELY OVERRATED!!! Hohei Ohtani signed a 2 year / $8,500,000 contract!!! This money should have been used on PITCHING!!! Why....if you know baseball you know, pitching wins!

@@snowpine9534 Babe Ruth was a pitcher...most all major league player pitched one time or another, that makes no difference at all. If he was an above average pitcher, why is he not pitching? Here is a fact, pitching, pitching and more pitching wins games and gets you into the playoffs. Being your average player does nothing....he is an average player, not a superstar. There are 4 player...maybe 5 that play for the Dodgers I will take over this guy every day! I could pick 50% of all baseball players in MLB I would take over Shohei Ohtani. Look, if he had a batting average about .290 and hit around 30 homers....I'd have no argument but he doesn't. I can not call him above average play without seeing above average stats.

You should feel sorry for Angels fans, because they will mostly lose him in free agency. The Angels is the Bermuda Triangle of MLB teams where great players' careers land and disappear like Trout's... and now Ohtani's if he decides to stay. Ohtani is in his prime and if he really wants to fulfill his dream of winning the World's Series, he must make take his talents to a team with a winning culture.

I gotta do a double take often when I watch Ohtani play baseball. Remember folks, this guy is a Pitcher with 4 pitches including a 102 mph 4-seam fastball. He'll play outfield, designated hitter, pinch run, he'll pitch, run the vendors products in between innings, clean his teams laundry after the game, manicure the grounds in between games, fly the team aircraft on away games, sell tickets in the box office at home games and the guy will operate the cameras for the TV station because this dude can do it all! It's "Bo Jackson" scary. Ohtani, stay healthy because baseball fans are anxious and hopeful to see how the game of baseball will be influenced by your career. Personally, I'm rooting for baseball to expect more offensively speaking from their pitchers, and for the love of the game and its purity, drop the designated hitter. Disavow, ban, discontinue, eliminate, replace, do away with, reset, and exchange the useless wasteful position designation automatic out; I meant professional baseball player bats left throws left and DH'S left. He also votes left and would vote for the abolition of the designated hitter. The National League is the only one of the two that preserves the purity of baseball. The DH is impure and a failed experiment. The game is 9 versus 9. Why are pitchers excused from being competent batters? Eff dat. I say all this as a committed fan of an American League central team. Cmon MLB; it's TIME! Ohtani is proof positive that the game is ready.

Ohtani family live near my house in Japan.😄 They are so polite and nice . The family tomb of Ohtanis is next to ours for a longtime, too. They have very topical traditional japanese mind . so , we residents are very proud of them😊
