I've always wondered what the airline or TSA would do with one of my DIY powerbank kits especially if its one where I've had someone 3D print a case for me I highly doubt TSA/airline employees would know enough about lithium ion to say "yeah there's no way the 40 18650's you've got in here are less than 100wh" or if they'd be willing to let me prove my case by taking off one side of the enclosure to find a cell that's got visible text and then googling the cell model and proving to them that it is 12.0wh so my 4S2P pack of 8 cell is only 96wh. Of course I've thought about doing the opposite and having a fake mAh/wh rating put on the side of the 3D printed case or applying a sticker that claims the cells are 2000mAh when they are 3500mAh 18650's or wrapping 21700's in that white/grey wrap they use on Samsung 30T's but use 50E's Part of me is paranoid that an overzealous TSA officer would refuse one of my powerbanks just because its DIY despite my battery builds being better than pretty much any powerbank I've taken apart.

Aside from one or two power banks I can pocket when waliking, I'm switching all battery banks over to DeWalt 20v batteries with the DeWalt DCB094k USBC 100w PD in&out charger. Charges in & out MUCH faster than any power bank. The 2ah is 40wh, and the 5ah battery is 100wh. Easy!
