FYI, anyone using the APR 2018 or newer version: Bookmarks are enabled by default. Simply ensure that they are toggled ON from the VIEW menu :) No need to go to the OPTIONs section. TY! Great video!

Brilliant solution to a problem I was facing with a report. I needed to show similar data but from 2 different viewpoint. Revenue and EBIT, but used the same slicers and similar filters but they needed to switch pages to get to the other viewpoint. This solves it so elegantly... Great stuff!

Opens up so many possibilities I hadn't considered before... Genius

I’ve been self-learning power bi for about a year and I have and these videos have helped my development a lot. As I get more creative, I want to know where can I get images such as this toggle button? This seems like a rookie question but this will bring my dashboards to another level

Brilliant ! I found this video coming from another question: "how can I predefine a number of page filter settings and save them under a selection button so the user clicking the button gets these exact filters set". It seems like bookmarks (which I did not know off before) does the trick ! Thanks for the clear explanation Patrick

Great and just what I was looking for. However, as many others have stated, it's a pity that the 'bookmarks' functionality does not offer facility to retain previously applier slicers.

Love it! Added it myself in a dashboard, Hope my client likes the idea for a possible addition to the dashboard.

This is just great! I recently found put that bookmark feature and i saw some examples with a navigation page inside of the report page where you may simply click on that and it changes all the view 😎 like creating an app inside a report

When I read that I thought it wasn't a great function. But now with your example I think it's very useful and with a lot of potencial for other applications like changing quickly between dimensiones or like you used it chaning between graphics and tables. Many thanks bro!! Greetings from Chile !

first of all, thank you SO MUCH for this channel! Secondly, wouldn't hiding the tabs make more sense if you were looking to make some changes to the visuals later on? How else would you find them?

Hi Patrick! Thank you for the video! I only have one problem with bookmarks: let's say the user is navigating in the tables, switching the years filters and then he wants to switch to charts by clicking on the toggle. The bookmark will then clean up the filters and go to the state where the bookmark was created/updated. This is a bit annoying for the user; I would like to control what affects the bookmark, is that possible? Thank you again, I would really appreciate if you respond this comment.

Hi Patrick, Love this feature and been using it a lot. I've added 3 buttons (with a greyed out version in behind, so 6 in total) linking to 3 different bookmarks. However when I change the visual position manually (X and Y Positions) it reverts to it's previous position when i click through each bookmark

Great video and great new features! Perhaps the logical next step is to link the visibility of visuals to user roles? Instead of having versions of a report for different management levels, you could have one report that automatically filters the visuals to different levels of management e.g. the strategic map of all areas for the CEO and the detailed list of staff in a team for a line manager.

This is really useful! Question- Is there a way to select a segment in one visualization then toggle to the other and it be pre-filtered from the selection is the first visualization? I figure I could create multiple bookmarks to do this for each selection, however that would potentially be too much to manage.

I use bookmarks to create a slicer panel for the users (when you have quite a few slicers on one page.) One bookmark to show the slicer panel and one to hide the slicer panel.

The Power BI October update video shows this, which is where Tonia would have got it from too. I have used it across a few reports but it is limited because it is going to reset all filters you might have selected before pressing the toggle button - it has some uses but needs some work. Great for storytelling though!

Subject: Dynamic change in chart (Not using Button. we must use Drop Down functionality) I have a requirement such as (If a single attribute is selected in Drop-Down it should display a Bar chart and if two attributes are selected in Drop Down the chart should change to scatter chart) in Power BI desktop app. Both these charts should be placed in the same place and it should change according to the user's selection.

Bookmars are pretty powerful, you could do anything with it. A bit pitty there is no smooth animation when you use it this way :)

Hi Patrick you are helping me a lot, thank you :) I know that this video is 3yrs old, but I still cannot find a solution for a ... "tricky request". You've shown here using bookmarks on a single report. My request is using the first tab as a "control panel". How to propagate this settings on all other tabs ? According to your example: If you set "Visuals" on one tab, all other tabs (reports) should show only visuals too. It looked like setting multiple bookmarks on single click to me :) Keep up the great work, kind regards. AR

This is great. Thank you. How Do you switch from one bookmark to the other by simply clicking on the image? In my case, when I click on one of the images the other one either disappeared or remains hidden underneath the other one, making impossible to move from one bookmark to the other one through the image.

It is a very clever idea to deal with a big number of sheets, though I can not figure out how to make it work in phone view

I love the concept but I'm running into a challenge. Bookmarks change all the filters so if I have applied some filters and want those to remain the same... how can I toggle between charts like you do in the video but only have the button impact the two charts being hidden and revealed? Hi, Is it possible to see in the next videos some ideas of how integrate powerbi with flow? Found the previous video about it pretty interesting.

It "will" be a great function once microsoft allows us to edit bookmarks. Right now, it is like all or nothing. For example, if client choses 2014 within visuals bookmark but then wants to see the tables of it and click the tables bookmark, he will end up in 2012 table not 2014 as he hoped. Hopefully, they are working on bookmarks and it will open endless possibilities. Can't wait for November udpate!

Hi. wonderful video and a great tool. I am getting an error and was hoping you can guide. When i come to drilling through to this page from another report, i have set chart as the mode and it shows the right information with the filter from the main page. when i toggle to table report also it shows the right info with the filter, but when i toggle back to chart second time, all filters are removed. kindly advise

I just have a quick question. Deleting those 2 pages will not affect the results? Bookmark has already been created, so we can just delete that?
