If power is done with Tariq's story,he has to die,jail doesn't make sense for that character. Making an appearance in Tommy's story would be the only reason he doesn't get whacked.

He's a great actor and i feel deserve better jobs.. The writers did a great job on continuing black negativity on screen like almost all black show/movie/music in America 🇺🇸
