Hi, nice video I want to build one of this, do you think is possible that you can send me a list of all materials that di you use on this power box? Thanks

Kinda nice to have all of your stuff in a road case but there's a few things I would change. First off, use a panel with a cover so stacking stuff in the box doesn't damage the breakers or worse, flip one off during the show if someone throws spare parts in there while you are using power. Secondly, going with a 3 prong plug on the supply cable is against all electrical codes these days, and will get an inspector's attention real quick in cases where they are also on site. Probably best to spec out power requirements ahead of time, stating that all outlets on site be GROUNDED and do that in your contract. to cover your ass!

Yes. Grounding is important. The problem is, some places still have the old 3 wire 240v setup. There are adapters for this. 4 way to 3 way. The adapter has a separate ground wire that comes out to be connected to a nearby outlet ground

@@ernestmccollum2397 ... watched a guy just last week, who has his box tied to a 4 prong plug. In his bag of tricks he's got the various adaptors for the older configuration outlets, including one with a 2 ft ground pigtail, which has a large alligator clip that can be secured to a conduit or other earth point. I also noticed over the years that some venues favor 50 amp plugs while others favor 60 amp plugs.... and a few facilities seem to have their panel cover long lost and you need to hardwire directly to a breaker. One must be prepared to cover all bases and do it safely as possible.

Put a removable bottom between your chords and your breaker panel that way you don't bang up your breaker box and break a plug other than that looks good

Sorry but this is a poor design. Putting your breaker panel at the bottom of the box with cables and junk piled on top of it is asking for something to physically break your circuit breakers. A better design would be to add a lid to the box and install the power distro in that lid. Take the lid off and flip it upside down and place it on the ground. Or hinge the lid so it can fold back against one of the box sides to keep the distro off the ground. An added benefit is that once you pack the box and close the lid, you have a flat surface to put other things on top to move your gear around. The other main problem is the green wire hanging off the 50A plug. This means that your distro is not properly grounded unless your electrician friend tied neutral and ground inside the breaker box. At a minimum connect the green wire to the neutral lug on the plug. Keep in mind, that this configuration is likely to get you shut down if a fire marshal does a pre-show fire inspection. Better yet replace the 3 lug dryer plug with a proper 4 lug grounded plug. You can use your plug, a square electrical box and a 4 prong dryer outlet to make a pigtail adapter. Then ask your venues to upgrade their 50 amp outlets to properly grounded outlets. Otherwise make sure you have enough insurance to cover death by electrocution because it can happen. On a final note, you might want to add 3/4" x 3/4" bracing on the insides of the box. My experience is that boxes of your design tend to blow out their sides without bracing. Your cable box is going to be one of your heaviest boxes.
