Well to be fair to the 1995 Power Rangers movie, it's sort of an elaborate continuation of the tv show so most viewers watching the movie are already familiar and invested in the characters.

we can easily recognize which animal power they actually hold by looking at their helmet.But in 2017 movie they are looking like cousins of IRON MAN.

I'll be honest, power rangers were way cooler than any cartoons I watched when I was a kid. I guess I just loved the cheese without even realizing it. The suits, the fights, and the zords were what made power rangers cool. Just me, but everything doesn't have to be serious or be serious all the time to be enjoyed.

I grew up on the show and watched the original movie to the point of it messing up lol needless to say I have already seen the reboot twice and I love it! It really exceeded my expectations and I hope we can get a sequel that will most likely be the green with evil storyline

I grew up with the original, and hey it was campy, cheesy, stupid... but it was fun. It was an after school tv show and was an escape from school and homework. As for the 2017 movie, the opening joke is about masturbating a cow....... masturbating a cow.... let that sink in... the first joke, the one that sets the stage for all other jokes, in the movie, and being one the first bits of actual dialogue which actually sets the tone of the movie, is about masturbating a cow.... if that is the alternative, No thank you. I'll take my Power Rangers with the all the cheese. Also the show premired on August 28 1993, almost two years before the movie, June 30th 1995, so like 95% of the developement of the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers is done before the first movie came out. Also the entire franchise is based on Toei's Super Sentai franchise.

I liked Power Rangers as a kid, and loved the reboot. I wasn't really expecting much, but it got me really invested. It didn't bother me at all that the action was downplayed and that the Rangers only appeared at the end. I appreciated that they took the time to build the team. I also didn't mind Rita's sillier moments towards the end. I've always loved Rita for her over-the-top ham, so I was glad to have at least a little of that.

Why is it that most power rangers fans only recognize Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? What about Time Force, or Dino Thunder, or Zeo, or R.P.M, or even Ninja Storm?

I thought Ivan reminded me more of Majin Buu than Penguin, but now I think he was inspired by a combination of the two.

I'm 23 growing up watching power rangers just about my whole life. especially as kid. The 2017 movie wasn't horrible. still love the original better. The only things I thought that was bad bout the 2017 movie was GOLDAR. horrible design. wished they gave a good back story like Rita and made look a lil scary as in the show... I didn't like how the 2017 power rangers had to morph. I was expecting a great morphing sequence with their morphers and show their communicators. like you said there wasn't a lot of action scenes in it. I hate that. I actually loved watching all the flips they did in the original. some of the zords were weird like the mazdadon having six legs and the triceratops looked like it did too. they should of showed the zords combine and fight as that tank mode then to the megazord. also use the power sword. if the movie fixed some of those things with it's darker tone I would of loved it. this 2017 movie was decent.

I liked better the 1995 version. It looked cheesy? Ok, but guess what? From 1993 to 1995, I was between 11 and 13 years old, and that was A LOT of fun, for a guy of my age, both the series and the movie, and it was played by guys I could someway rely on, because they were supposed to be my age, or just a little older. And Alpha 5 was a robot, not a planet head...I mean today's Alpha 5's head looks like Saturn. Come on! And the armour??? At least, in the series, they had the design of the animal they represented, but now??? They look all TERRIBLY IDENTICAL to one another. And yeah, Goldar and Rita looked better in the original

As far as I know, they hadn't enough money to animate the power rangers stuff (including the suits), so they limited them to the climax. Maybe I am wrong though. I liked the movie in general (Not as much, when they became Power Rangers). What I really didn't like was, how the megazord was introduced. I loved the combining thing of the past. And now it's gone. It may make more sense in this movie's logic, but the magic is lost for me.

The pr movie 2017 gets a 10 out of 10 because when I watched it it was just awesome

I watch the show as a kid, and my mom HATED it. But then I saw the movie with her, and she actually liked it. Well, except for the part where they played "GO GO POWER RANGERS!!" for 30 seconds.

According to me it´s stupid compare the two movies, because the ‘95 's was made as a (non canonical) adventure inside the original show, the new one is a reboot. So they are two different movies. I like the.original first team power rangers version (in the 95 movie we have the 2nd team) but I like see in the new one Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Trini and Zack not as "goody two shoes teenagers" like in the 90s

I liked Power Rangers 2017 alot. I don't dissect everything. I just either enjoy or don't enjoy a movie.

I grew up on Power Rangers and absolutely loved the reboot. Billy was always my favorite and seeing him made more relatable to me made his character even better. In fact. I've heard people say that Billy is what makes this movie. Also will you do one of these vs. videos on Carrie?

Great video Eric but things like the crappy CGI in the original movie and the cheap looking suits is because in the TV series almost all the footage with the rangers was taken directly from Super Sentai which is a Japanese series similar to Power Rangers so for the movie EVERYTHING was American footage so they had to make everything from scratch. Not trying to be mean or anything but a bit of constructive criticism never hurts ;) . As a long time Power Rangers fan though I would have to say that the new movie blew my expectations out of the water. All the references and fan servicey sort of stuff were mixed with the new stuff so well to create an awesome experience for Power Rangers fans, like myself.

How could you compare the two movies if you was never into the show? I watch the show and the movie. The characters in the show is way better than the reboot. Yes they are not really teenagers but Tommy was my role model. I grew my hair just because he had long hair also my name is Thomas and I had every body calling me Tommy. Who says you can't make your own nickname lol. Also the green ranger is the wolverine of the group. Anyone who watch the show boys was in love with the pink ranger and girls wanted to be her.

I could never really get into Power Rangers as a kid but never could understand why. then earlier this year I was bored got the DVD of the reboot cause it on sale and I got to say, it blew my expectations out of the atmosphere. I legitimately loved this movie and I've seen it twice since. I do agree with all you said in this video. Keep yo o the great work!

Remember watching the original when I was a kid and being excited, I actually still have some of the toys that were included in McDonalds Happy Meal, but just seeing clips of it now I wouldn't dare put myself through 90+ minutes of that again. The newer movie had a pretty good trailer, but I was somewhat disappointed when I finally saw it. The trailer made it seem more grounded and less silly but once I watched it, realized I had been tricked. I wish they'd one day do a darker Power Rangers, I know some director did a 7-8 min one shot(which you may be able to still find on KZfaq) and would prefer watching something like that

As a kid growing up on power rangers you didn't notice how bad the cgi was. It actually looked cool and realistic. But going back now that tech got better it shows how bad it was. Same thing happens for games. There wasn't enough action in the reboot, the dialogue was cheesy when I was expecting a more serious movie (because they said it was going to be a more serious take) the zords looked bad in the reboot. You could barely tell what they were. I still don't know if the black ranger was a mammoth or a beetle. Goldar looked terrible I preferred the original.

just check the beginning who understand wich movie is better.. in the 2017 movie there are two idiots that try to steal a cow, in the '95 movie there are a group of cool guys that jump for an aeroplane with a red hot chili peppers song. i think that's enough.

I watched the newer iterations of the power rangers from about ages 5-8 but the new movie I actually really enjoyed and have rewatched it a few times

I really love the 2017's Power Rangers movie & I said it as huge die heart fan of Power Rangers & their source material than Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie, & I'll tell you why. My complaint about the 1995 film is that my favorite childhood color Power Ranger, the Red Ranger, is not the leader like every other Power Rangers season had, it's the White Ranger & what's even more disappointing is the fact that he doesn't have a lot of screen time in that movie, that why I appreciated the 2017 film more. 👌

How about the problem in the 2017 version where every character in battle looks like a mass of random colored CGI rock formations? The toys for the 2017 movie sucked because the zords were really ugly, as were the suits and morphers.

Just remember that you're comparing the technology that they had back then, to the technology that they have now. Technology has massively improved since 1995, which was 22 years ago. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was great for its time. I'm not fond of their plastic suits that they had back then, but they did a pretty bang up job on the film. Also, for you, since you never watched the TV Show, just gonna add that they had some extra tidbits. In the TV Show, Aisha didn't have those flashlights out of her helmet's eyes, Rocky didn't have the scanning ability, Kimberly didn't have the Pterodactyl whip and Billy didn't have that device that acts like Batman's grapple hook. I grew up with the TV Show. I missed out in a bunch of episodes and then watched it and thought "um what's this?" So I stopped watching it. I watch the 2017 movie and loved it so much, that I picked up the Action Figures and the Zords. It also rekindled my like for the Power Rangers. Now I watch the TV Show, because I find it a good comedy, with all the monsters that the Power Rangers fight.

The original movie was great. The reboot was great, but lacked action. Low expectations and the idea of power rangers being a kids brand lead to it being a box office dud, but toy sales and digital/blu ray/DVD sales will bring the movie back for a sequel. A lot of people are being enticed by some of the new clips surfacing.

Hell in the 1995 power Rangers film as a kid I had it on dvd and I thought Ivan Ooze was played by Christopher Lloyd because of how much he reminded me of Uncle Fester and just sounded like it

Well, I never saw power rangers as a kid until I saw a few episodes of dino charge. As for the reboot... I hated it. I'm sorry, i really wanted to get into it and the power rangers as a whole, but everything about it was fast forward material. I'd rather stick with my favorite teenage turtles

The movie from '95 was great, was cinematic, was cool and dynamic. The new movie is boring.. is not really bad, but it can't be compare with the old one. It looks poor if compare with the old one. The old movie was for the kids of that period, the new movie is for bimbiminkia (I don't know how to say this word in english but you can find in urban dictionary). I'm older now, and I prefare watch the old one, is more "genuine", the new one is just politically correct, they talk all the time about...nothing. I never got in to Power Rangers as a kid. I sat down to watch the new movie and was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Being autistic myself, I was generally pleased by how well Billy was portrayed and is now one of my favorite characters ever.

I wish we had gotten the other six films that were planned.

It's been a long time since I last watch the 1995 movie of Power Rangers and never watch the Turbo movie but I watched the Twitch Marathon of Power Rangers and love it especially Time force Power Rangers but the new movie just made me sad and feeling betrayed.

At the time this reboot came out, it didn't interest me as I was never a big fan of Power Rangers (and live-action remakes/or reboots in general).

Still prefer the original.

First of all, I didn't watched the first series, yeah, I'm from the 2000 decade, only from Ninja Storm to the rest, but I like a lot the series and of course, watched the 1995 movie on internet. And this movie in my opinión is so good, making changes on the story and the characters is not bad, well, in this case almost, but the other movie for me was good too, but the new superated the last one

As a kid, the 1995 movie was severely disappointing to me. I think we were on season 2 or 3 of the tv show at that time and the movie did not come close to the charm of the tv show. And the original megazord (guy wearing cardboard boxes) looked better than the CG megazord we got in the firlm. All that being said, I've been really worried about this 2017 movie but after seeing a few phonecam videos of some of the scenes, I got the impression that the writers took everything I liked about the original tv series and used that as a foundation. I'm kinda bummed that the zord fighting is not that extensive in this since that was always the pinacle of any episode. But perhaps this is the reboot I've been looking for for a long time. Maybe a sequel will come of this that will have more action and less exposition. I haven't watched any of the modern power rangers shows. They seem to deviate from the original show I loved as a kid.

personally i liked both. i grew up watching power rangers first five or so season's. while it was chessy as hell for a kid it just fine that way. and the story was easy to follow as well as appealing to kids who wanted to be super heros/special. also it tried (if i remember correctly) to teach so morals. this new one does a good job and many levels. over looking differences, coming together to work to a common goal. its far less chessy but i wish there was a bit more comic relief. cgi was good. would've like more action sences. but when you basically starting over you need character depth more. story line was well thought out and if you could get over the difference in tone between the two it drew you in. all in all i liked the movies for what they where

I was too young to see the movie in the 90s but I have watched the show. I still like it but yes, I was surprised by the new movie. Pleasantly surprised of course. I do agree that the morph and fighting scene could have been put in earlier but I am not TOO bothered by it since I think they were trying to build up the characters for it and unfortunately movies have a time limit that shows don't exactly have.

i actually like the power rangers operation over drive, jungle fury and mystic force far better, but the thing with the 2017 power rangers i dont like the most is the training, i mean seriously their training is nothing more than a bunch of self defense techniques and wrestling moves from wwe, seriously my martial arts training was much more rigorous than what i saw in the 2017 power rangers

i kind of used to watch it. (only samurai), And i founf t so cheesy... i hated the fact that every episode showed a villain (sometimes cool looking, but still.. the suits were very bad) and just kill him at the end. and it was always the same! every episode was almost the same...
