So the reason why Dino Charge and Ninja Steel felt similar in terms of homage toward mmpr is because of the backlash of Samurai and Megaforce, which is honestly a shame because Samurai was right after Saban got the rights back and was rushed into production so they just made it beat for beat with its sentai counterpart. And Megaforce's problem was studio intervention. The writers had a lot potential great character and plot development, but the some of the producers shut them down. Also they were putting the Super in front of the those few seasons to split them into two 20 episode seasons instead of one long season.

Honestly a lot of these should be rank higher only reason you seem to have rank them lower was cause they didn’t have “Go Go Powers rangers” like might morphin and personally I never like the original that much to begin with space was the first op I really caught on to

I too wish the later themes were more original 😔. Plus the Hasbro themes (Beast Morphers and Dino Fury) are too short like they could be great if they were longer and had more original stuff added to them.

Ninja Storm got me back to watching Power Rangers the op theme felt new that time cause I just went 3 seasons from the original so pretty much all I know is the original theme. Loved Mystic Force even though I couldn't really understand some of the words, and when it came out, I couldn't find the complete lyrics.

I watched up through Lost Galaxy as a kid and I absolutely agree that the original and Zeo are S-tier themes. The original is iconic for obvious reasons, but you can really tell with Zeo that they put all their effort into coming up with something that would draw people in back in for something new, while also reaching back to the original theme enough to be recognizable. And that was super important at the time because they were making the unprecedented change of leaving the original costumes. Those costumes were around for nearly 150 episodes, so they were hyping the hell out of the change when they finally ran out of Super Sentai footage they could splice around to keep using them. I remember the commercial for the new seasons teasing for weeks (months? time loses all meaning as a kid) the CG scene where the laser cuts out the Zeo symbols, then ending before revealing the new logo. So when they did the double-episode premiere, I was so excited to see what was happening with it. In retrospect, the costumes were pretty good, but a little bland. Exception given to the Gold ranger, who still has one of the best costumes in the history of the show. There's no denying that the opening song is really great though. It's kind of sad that so many seasons use lame remixes of the original rather than finding ways to integrate aspects of the original into a unique theme. Maybe they just don't have the budget anymore to make the effort?

There are two additional theme songs not covered in this video, but they were for web series. The first is Mighty Morphin Meower Rangers, an official Saban created parody web series of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for KZfaq where the Rangers are played by cats. The other is Power Rangers HyperForce, a Twitch web series that is an official sequel to Time Force and the story is played out via Tabletop RPG similar to how Dungeons & Dragons is done with the web series Critical Role.

This is awesome because I can tell you're both a fan of the genre and you know what a theme song is supposed to do. Rock on, man!

It's amazing how over thirty years later, EVERY SINGLE theme song in this franchise is still using that 'GO, GO, POWER RANGEEEERRRSSS!' sting from the original MMPR seasons. Talk about a memorable composition!

While it is lazy that Megaforce just took Samurai’s theme (a rock version of Go Go Power Rangers) and changed “Rangers together, Samurai Forever” to “Rangers forever, Megaforce all together” and added the “ME-GA FORCE” chant, being that Megaforce was the 20th anniversary season, Megaforce having a theme song that calls back to Mighty Morphin made more sense than Samurai, imo. As far as the quality of the themes compared to the seasons, it varies. Personally, I’m biased enough to not hate any of PR’s themes. I love Ninja Steel’s theme but that was one of the weaker seasons. I’m not fond of the RPM, Beast Morpher and Dino Fury themes, but the latter two are some of the stronger seasons, like top 15, and RPM is, for me, one of the top 3 seasons. However, Operation Overdrive’s theme is just as bad as the show itself, which, imo, is the weakest season so far.

Lost Galaxy might be a regular season but in my friends ranking the intro is by far the best, followed by Zeo in second and Dino Thunder in third place. Also RPM is the best season by a country mile but while I've seen some covers that make it justice the intro in the stage that its presented is the absolute worst, such is the irony of life. BTW this my top10 if you're interested: 1-LostGalaxy, 2-DinoThunder, 3-Zeo, 4-InSpace, 5-MMPR/Samurai/Megaforce, 6-SPD, 7-DinoCharge 8-TimeForce, 9-WildForce, 10-JungleFury.

Hey I really wanted to thank you for making a fair list. By fair I mean not immediately brushing off the new seasons based on nostalgia and genuinely going through each theme. I've seen so many rankings of people not objectively listening to the music and basing it off of the season, while saying they would be objective and base it off of the music alone. My fav intros have to be Samurai or Dino Charge from modern day. SPD and Mystic Force for old school... and while we don't agree on it I honestly kinda vibed with the Operation Overdrive theme lol.

Dino super charge was super creative with the 10 rangers and the energems. Imo it was the best dino series for its own theme. Other than that Dino thunder is slightly higher in terms of characters but Dino Charge was probably the best one that had a super season

Turbo one is way better in the extended version. I get that it didn't catch you because the opening version is so editeded. No blame. Lost Galaxy is so epic and dramatic, I'm huge fan of this song. Top tier for me. Time Force song is... Amazing. The pre chorus and the bridge makes me feel so good. Now... Mystic Force is such a BANGER. Jungle Fury, and I'm no kidding, I would dance to this at a night club forever. Dino Charge for me is such a relief after Megaforce. Not just the season but the song as well. Of course among the classic ones is not that remakable but in newest eras is top tier for me. So much fun and clean. These mans vocals are so good.

I agree with most of your choices for the theme songs and think your reasonings were very thought out. My top five themes are Dino Charge, Lost Galaxy, Dino Thunder, Ninja Storm, and In Space. But as a franchise, I love them all. I liked how you talked about the different parts of the songs; you sound like you have a background in music. Have you ever thought of reacting to all the Power Ranger morphs? I'd like to see that. Honestly, I hated every season from RPM on, especially since I grew up with both PR and Super Sentai, the original. Until RPM I enjoyed what they did, but from that seaspn onward, it just hurt to watch, the openings and the series itself became pure cringe in my eyes, especially Megaforce and Super Megaforce. Most seasons were faithful to the original materials from Japan, but RPM and on, well... They took the lighthearted Go-Onger and turned it into that post-apocalyptic pile of scrap. The first opening was completely uncreative. The singers couldn't have earned much, since they just had to yell three sentences into the mic, which were then mixed with music and looped again and again. (Super) Samurai I could tolerate, even though the idea of American Samurai was, well...anyway... The opening tried too hard to imite the OG opening, IMO. Megaforce was the point where everything went downhill. Theys took the orignal Goseiger and removed any and all traces of the Guardian Angel theme from it. Worse, they gave us a discount Zordon, which to me was an insult to the OG's mentor, who sacrificed himself to save the universe. Super Megaforce, well, the name alone says everything. Not only did they (again) remove the Pirate theme, they couldn't even make it a season of its own, instead making the Gokaiger suits into an upgrade transformation for the Megaforce team. And while the Gokaiger had to work hard for and often get humiliated by the original owners of the powers in order to earn their Grand Powers, the SM team did F*** ALL and always earned them out of F***ING NOWHERE. Sorry, that season always makes me angry. Dino Charge...it was okay, but I hated what they replaced Torin and Chaos with.... I think I made my point clear, I dislike or outright hate every season from PRM on. The spark is gone, nothing feels truly original anymore...
