Ofc the way power scaling can be used can be weird but that only depends on who’s using it and who’s scaling but this doesn’t take away from its effectiveness in essentially every series to exist. Power scaling is essential to knowing how strong some characters in comparison to others that’s the simple definition and theirs good and bad ways you can apply it, so I don’t get wha you tryna say like in general is you saying power scaling don’t make sense or wha? Also i mentioned hax earlier in my messsge because some villains may not be stronger but they have a hax ability which allows them to be the next main villain not because their strength but because their ability. Dragon ball is the perfect example, minor villains aren’t the main villains that’s gonna pose a threat It went from vegeta, Frieza, androids to call all were stronger than the rest it doesn’t mean this is always the case tho I didn’t state that. But to compete the villain would probably have hax. It also determines the relationship between things like lifting strength AP and striking strength. AP attack potency DC, destructive capacity everything doesn’t scale the same way to determine how it works you power scale essentially. Goku can fight planet buster but never shown such a feat. He would have planetary AP.
