Had mine for awhile now. Bought it just out of curiosity. I have Daystates, FX,Raw,Taipans, and numberious other's. This is well worth the money. And actually easier to tune than alot of other rifles in the high $$ range. After throwing thousands of pellets and slugs thru this, I can say it's a winner. No problems so far. Time will tell. I ended up tuning mine to 54fpe with the Jsb 34gr. 40 shot string all within 5 fps. 300 bar fill and falling off the reg at 140bar. Love's slugs too. Do your part with tuning and testing, you'll have yourself a nice 100+ slug gun. Side note. I did open my barrel port just a tad. Stock opening is on the small side. And did a simple barrel polish. Very efficient and accurate rifle. I'm glad I bought it to test out for myself. Good job on the video.

@Storm 36 It's been awhile on that rifle. I honestly can't remember. All my testing sheets went with the rifle when I sold. I only wanted to buy one to put it through some testing. I do have a bullpup I'm supposed to get too. Just haven't got to shooting and tuning it yet. I'd say just try different pressures while doing your shot strings. You'll see where you personally will want to be. Have fun. HH. HS

That's awesome! Mines set at 2700 psi, running an avg. of 908 fps over the first mag, 2nd: 906.88 - 3rd: 881 - 4th: 840.88, I'm sure I was falling off the reg around the top of the third mag. This is when it was new and I have shot unregulated guns so long now that I'd forgotten and just kept on cranking 😆 . My unregulated bullpups have smaller tubes as well, I was just excited I could run five mags until I was at the yellow 😂 That was with a 300 bar fill as well. I need to chrony it again. I love the setting with the 2400 you're getting, but, to get that 903, where'd ya set the hammer spring? I don't even know how many turns mine is currently set, I'm still running stock, but from a full fill now. If you didn't adjust the hammer spring then that means you're smacking the valve with the same force with the same results, less air = good deal. That also, possibly, depending on how much air is causing turbulence as it spits out the barrel, if it is, then the turning down also increases accuracy. I'm thinking out loud again, aren't I... 😳

Another great video Angie! This gun is on my short wish list. I think I'd lower it back to the 2200 psi setting. Your only gaining 9fps and less then a fpe by going to 2400. I would have to think that would give you several extra shots for very little, almost negligent power sacrifice.

Just got the AVA in .25 and I have a question: When you did this test did you do any adjustments on the hammer spring? I figured if I got pretty much the same numbers AND really good accuracy at 50 yards, it would be nice to just set the regulator and not mess with the hammer spring. I’ll mainly be using mine for pest/varmint control. TIA. I’m still having a little trouble understanding the hammer spring adjustment theory and how to do it properly. TIA

Nice job, Ill use this as a baseline for my .25 Avenger which has a 16cc external plenum which adds 6fpe. Ill test the 25.39 and the 34s but also have the JTS 29g which is a nice in between caliber. Ill also play with hammer spring turns which I must have missed in the video, Steve on AEAC says the reg is the main power adjuster and the hammer spring is the fine tune velocity adjuster, whatever the reg pressure is, shoot 10 at different hammer spring turns to see what the closest shot velocity spread is, this is where the harmony or balance is between regulator and hammer spring, just thought Id add that to my comments. thanks again.

Great info! My 25 Avenger is in the mail. I was looking for this, similar to what aeac did for the .22. Did you leave the hammer spring the same for all the reg adjustments ? And if so , would tuning it to the reg increase efficiency even more ? It would have been cool to see shot strings with how many shots you increased per fill by dropping the reg 500 psi. Thanks ! New sub !

@@markc3571 i just got this avenger in .25 and to be honest, none of my super expensive rifles can shoot like this little 300$ gem. for 10x that price you can improve your groups by about a quarter of an inch and up your fpe by 45 with an fx .35....my only regret is not purchasing this avenger before i went on an endless search and burned way too much money for a 100 yard sub moa rifle. after lapping and polishing and giving her the ballistol treatment ive realized i didnt need to spend 2500 on a regulated pcp to get the results i was looking for.

I have downed small deer with 14.6grain griffin hollow point slugs, shoot straight, fire true, and tune your rifle to you. I run my avenger at 1160 fps at around 28 ft lbs. A Lung shot will have you tracking but it's still a kill, possum, trash panda, and anything less is still food. Big game get gamo lethal or 14grain slugs. Point is a .177 will feed your family if you are accurate.

What should we expect from the Air Venturi Avenger? I have experience with five different Avengers in .22. One had a POI change that was erratic and unpredictable. Nothing seemed to work to correct the problem. The group would unpredictably jump three inches to the left but without changing the scope setting and after several shots the group would shift to the original POI. Strange behavior that I could not correct. Another of the five had a barrel that shot so low and right that I did not have enough scope adjustment. Scope shimming was not an option due to stressing the scope tube. Numbers three, four and five had regulator leaks. Those Avengers were the new baffle models that leaked 200 PSI in seven minutes and increased to 600 and 800 PSI over night. Is there a manufacturer’s defect in the new baffle models? Since the Avengers are a budget model and defects should be expected however all five in my experience were beyond tolerable defects. My air rifles and supplies are bought from Pyramyd Air and have not experienced the Avenger problems with other Chinese air rifles. The Gauntlet is a prime example. The Avenger baffle models were accurate on the bench but very unpredictable on the regulator while hunting. Even with all the problems, I am looking for an Avenger .22 that works with tolerable defects. The Avenger sounds like a good hunter.

Hi Angie, been thinking about a first PCP for over a year now. Despite what a few have said, I'm leaning towards an Avenger in .25. Between you and one other shooter (1721), I see a lot of what I'll need in the .25 caliber Avenger. I was thinking of filling the plastic stock with foam like I used to do with my Benelli's, but I want to ask your opinion, if you could get the wood stock, would you change? I respect your opinion, so here I am asking you. I just hope I can find a .25 while my finances are capable. I must be committed, as I just ordered a pump for the day when a PCP might visit me. Foam filled plastic or wood?
@454CHEVYJV
@454CHEVYJV 3 жыл бұрын
I have the wood stock in .25 and I love it! A little heavier than the composite, obviously but the feel of it makes it so much better in my opinion. The composite stock to me just feels cheap and it's not really my thing. For a budget PCP, it is pretty sweet right out of the box.

Think finding the pellet speed sweet spot is,usually with a diablo style pellet your looking between 850 to 880 fps,any faster mite have a chance of pellet spiral. I shot the JSB kings using my slug tune and was hitting 940fps and it was horrible,accuracy went out of the window,tuned down to 2100 psi and I hit my Avengers sweet spot for the JSB kings.

but were they mark 2's? i find 950 fps quite nice.. last trip to the range i used an unregulated pcp slinging 31 grains 950 fps...golf ball groups at 100 my dude...maybe it was your ammo...maybe it was my ammo.. maybe you didnt lap and polish your barrel and have too much rifling causing a vortex at higher speeds. or maybe your hands just arent as steady as they could be...too many maybes here so ill sprinkle some for sure sauce on top...950 fps for sure is not unstable and i would argue its actually results in more stable groups than a lower velocity of say 850 fps at greater than 50 yards, and the reason for that is quite simple, less flight time equals less time for the wind to play around with your projectiles as well as significantly less bullet drop. there are many factors that go into an accurate group and something as small as the shape of your pellet, the slightest imperfections will result in wind resistance and friction pushing unevenly on and around your pellets/slug. your barrels twist rate most likely is why you dislike 950 fps..bottom line as long as you stay a safe distance from the sound barrier you can sail smoothly as long as your captain knows wtf hes doing.

AA, Have you had any issues with zeroing the scope and then coming back the next day to find it shooting 6in high or low for no reason that I can find. I had a hawke scope (maybe the same one you have on your avenger) that I returned to the factory because the PIO would not stay zeroed in. It never went left or right just up and down about 6 to 8 in at 25 yards.

Nope, haven't had that issue. But surely that would suck! I'm going to say that was a rare lemon, Hawke has always been a reliable optic for me and I've used from the least expensive scope to the higher end ones.

@@stevenelixson3784 I didn't do a shot count at the time, it claims to get 110 shots at the lowest setting and to be honest with Covid and the shortages on almost everything I couldn't justify shooting off several hundred pellets. On the other hand if you're plinking and not really considering knock down power as to hunting, lower power will definitely give you more shots and that's less trips to the pump, tank or compressor. The reason I set mine like I did was because I was planning to hunt but at the same time didn't want to waste air that could give me more shots while in the woods. For plinking though, I would decrease the reg setting to about 2,000 and let it roll! I hope you have a great time plinking with you family! Happy and spot on shooting Sir!! :)
