Replacing the power steering pump on a 2000 Buick Regal, with a 3800 Series 2 engine (3.8L). This video shows the removal and installation of the pump only...it does not include the fluid flush process after replacement.

The dowel pin trick was absolute golden. I was struggling, but once I fashioned a dowel pin to hang the pump it was get 'er done time!

Best how to video I've ever seen. Kinda wish I could hear some of the clanking with parts and tools. However it definitely beats the loud engine noise people be putting in the beginning of their videos. Thank you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great instructions. I have to do this on a 97 olds and was not looking forward to it. But now I know the procedure and don't have to guess where bolts are, etc.

Excellent! Good lighting. Nice camera placement. And the precious silence. If you ever republish the video, please add more arrows at the beginning (removal), like you did with the holding pin on installation. Still, one of the best.

Great video! When bolting ps pump back in, I used a bunji cord to suspend it so I wasn't fighting the weight of the pump when guiding the bolts in.

Believe me, I'm no pro! It's not too bad if you just take your time and concentrate on one thing at a time...don't look at the project as a whole. Before you know it, the job is done! If I can do it, so can you! Thanks for watching!

It's really just two bolts and two hoses you can do it
@dkeith454 жыл бұрын
Well, your video showed the most detail of the many I've watched trying to figure out my problem, but I still fail. I have the exact same kit, and did the reinstall the exact same way you show, but the pulley/shaft turns no matter what I do, and that ends up unscrewing the installer. : (

Aside from the low pressure hose connecting to the reservoir, is there an accessible disconnect on the hose so I'm able to do a power steering fluid flush?

Good video ! :-) Wow , does that ever need a good de-greasing / cleaning ! God bless Wyr
@GreaseMonkeyFever7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, what an understatement...lol! It was hard finding the nuts and bolts. I used a ton of GoJo hand cleaner whenever he brought that thing over...my girlfriend wouldn't let me in the house...and I usually had to eat dinner on my workbench! The young man who owned this drove the dog-snot out of it...I had to fix on it so he could give it to his sister going to college. Thanks for watching...and commenting!

Im having trouble with my bolts tighten up, making it to where my power steering pump is loose making the pulley wiggle and the serpentine belt comes off, any suggestions?
@MrPolomitch Жыл бұрын
You have to snug both bolts up before you tighten them both down, if you tighten one all of the way down the other bolt won't tighten up and it will be loose

Can you show how to put it back in....

Has anyone done this on a supercharged car? The pump is ever more buried on those. Wondering if I will need to remove the supercharger snout to gain access.
