And if she had, strictly based on the facts... the officer likely would not have been granted qualified immunity. We won't know since she didn't file suit . Got a gun pulled on me for some similar bs, but the cop was almost a mile behind me in traffic. Cop is at another department now to say the least, but you get stuck in court and paying a ton for your lawyer. When they pull a gun, they love putting on as many bs charges as possible. (Edit): There were no body cams at the time, just the dash cam. This is why body cams are so important.

When I was six or seven years old, my dad taught me how to properly use firearms. Part of the lesson was that I should never, ever point a firearm at anything I was not willing to kill or destroy. This cop showed that he was willing to kill this woman simply because she didn't immediately bend to his wishes. About 20 years ago in MO, women were being pulled over at night by someone impersonating a cop and were killed. We were told that if a cop put on his lights in a remote, dark area, we should signal or acknowledge him but drive slowly to a more populated or lighted area to pull over. Just because someone has lights on their vehicle and is wearing what looks like a uniform, doesn't mean they are legitimately a cop! This cop had no right to get so angry over a woman protecting herself and her children!

Yeah that’s not how that works in this situation. He was forced to resign so he doesn’t collect another dime. He wasn’t forced into retirement he was forced to resign so that he can’t collect any pension or unemployment. What the sheriff did was save us taxpayers for his fuckup.

@@leo29hornsfan I believe you are mistaken. The whole reason they resign is because they get to keep their pensions and collect them. It's when they get fired, then they disqualify from the perks of the job. I'm pretty sure I'm right. You can look it up. That's why when the cops do something aggregious as they often do, THE POLICE UNIONS force the departments to let them resign instead of firing them. Do follow up and make sure I'm not wrong.

I was a cop for 2 and a half years and what the sheriff did was force him to resign because when that happens you are no longer eligible for unemployment benefits and pensions. If he would’ve been fired he can still collect unemployment benefits from us the taxpayers and still could’ve appealed the department’s decision for firing him and possibly have it overturned and him get his job back. People get that mistaken as it was a bad thing that he was forced to resign. It’s not any different then when an employer tries to makes you resign from your job and they do that in hopes you say yes so they don’t have to pay you unemployment when you try and collect. When you’re force to resign as an officer you don’t get shit that’s why the sheriff did that. Now it be different if that clown fucked up and was forced to retire then yes he would’ve been able to keep his pension and anything else they get.
