2 жыл бұрынIn this video we compare how a stock 6 volt and stock 12 volt car compares to an updated car with new motors and batteries. We used a 12 volt SLA Battery, a 12.8 LiFePO4 battery and an 18 volt lithium-ion battery. And no surprise, the 18 volt battery was the fastest.

Will the 12v motors handle 18/20v batteries for long before they let the smoke out?

Yes, stock 12v motors will handle 18/20v batteries for a long time, as long as the 12v motors were “broken in” with a 12v battery first.

have you tried the high gear on the stock 12v ones? with the upgraded battery

Yes. The stock 12v motor perform well with the upgraded 18v battery (they are only slightly slower). I was converting most of these cars from 6v motors to 12v, which is why I bought new motors. If you have stock 12v motors, there isn’t a need to buy new motors as you won’t see that much of an improvement

Yes, there were the gearbox/motor combo off Amazon. Probably not as good as Traxxas motors, but a definite upgrade over stock

At 18 volts, I am using a battery with 6 amp hours which gives me 30 to 40 minutes of run time on pavement
