Thanks for posting this video and explaining the speed and polarity switching. I'm trying to fix a Peg Perego jeep, I think it works on the same principle as it has a two speed switch and fwd/rev gear shift.

I have a powerwheels Wild Thing. It's fried. I have a basic powerwheels wire harness that has two 12v 6 pole rocker switches. I'm going to use a basic speed controller for it all.

Wow this is the first video on the wiring I actually understood!!! Your explanation was so clear and easy to understand. Thank you! Could you please explain how the pedal is tied in to this?

Cut the positive going to the battery and connect it to the peddle. Then connect the other prong on the peddle to the positive to the shifter switch... when the peddle is pushed it completes the circuit. Basically it's like disconnecting the battery when you let off the peddle

I assume reverse would be using the 6v series circuit?

How did you solve your problem? My power wheels F150 has two 6 pin switches. Why is it that sometimes when the switches “burn” out only the high speed 12v work but the 6v and reverse die? Also yes one wheel seems to get more power than the other, I’m assuming because the power flows through that one first? How could I get them to have equal power?

My step-grandson has a Best Choice Products 12v 4 wheeler. The foot switch went bad so I pulled it. It has 3 pins. The replacement I bought has 6 pins. Will this switch work if I use one bank of 3 pins? Is it that simple?

I know I’m very late to this but I need help from anyone. I’m trying to fix my power wheels and it has been very successful so far. But I ran into a problem with the shifters wiring. It recieves a 12v charge up to the first 6 pin switch, but on the second switch, the charge isn’t showing up. If anyone can help me I would much appreciate it. Thank you.

Thanks any chance to explain this for those power wheels with one motor?

@@treyjones424 Fisher price CLG97. "Batman Lil' Quad". Found it on the side of the street took it apart, low and behold motor still works. Problem is I only have a 12v 5ah motorcycle battery which I think will be too fast for my 2 yr old and maybe burn out the motor which I think is a "550". Ordered a hi lo switch off amazon as well as a fwd/reverse switch both of which I plan to wire up. The hi lo is the priority though.
@treyjones4242 жыл бұрын
@@KarpucMotoring so the issue is this was only indented for 6 volt. I understand wanting to Lessing the speed but without wiring in a resistor you will be stuck. Your best bet is to just use the forward reverse switch but wire the battery into a speed contoller Amazon has them. 15-20$. This will allow you to tune the speed and adjust it as you want more
@KarpucMotoring2 жыл бұрын
@@treyjones424 oh ok so essentially replace the hi lo with a speed controller instead. Will this hi lo not still work and provide half the speed weather or not it's a 12v? Maybe a higher half speed but still slower then just on/off
@KarpucMotoring2 жыл бұрын
@@treyjones424 disregard my last question, just looked up speed controllers and they are wayy cooler. He's gonna have a digital speedo now! new project.. 😎 Oh and they already come w reverse switch too
