We launch our 55/SS project which is a 21st century version of the popular 1955 Chevy shoebox. We’ll build it from the chassis up with a 502 big block, then the trans, rear end, brakes and suspension. We’ll also visit the shop to show how the chopped top bodies are made from fiberglass.

I like how people say Joe’s not a car guy when he’s been around cars longer than most of them have been around, he has a couple of nice rides also. Maybe he’s not perfect like they are but he gets the job done and he was on TV.

There was nothing made in the 50s under the SS. The first SS was the 61 Chevrolet impala with the SS package.
