Give a thought in 1972 when US President Nixon visited China its people travel only on push bikes! Today one of its smart phone manufacturers manufactures EV cars that can beat Porsche with 0 to 60mph in 2.7 sec and has a range of 500miles!

Definitely not, Xiaomi has a deep partnership with Qualcomm and is not involved in chip manufacturing, which makes them relatively safe for now.

The Chinese automakers are producing great products. As Musk said in the Tesla earnings call, they have the potential to pretty much wipe out the rest of the industry. The world and the US better be ready because these products are coming.

Very impressed. This car seems to bring upwards the overall scale of EV. Understand there were sold like “little bread” (as we usually said in France). Hope to see them in the future in this part of the world. Otherwise in Vietnam for sure….😊

I guess your ET5 has a higher lowest seat position as it has a swappable battery which requires more space. I haven’t experienced this in any other EV without a battery swap. But I heard they fixed that in ET5T.

according to other reviews, SU7 is better than et5. there are quite a few good cars released recently other than SU7, like new Denza N7, IM L6, and Zeekr 007.

To create the SU7, Xiaomi hired Tianyuan Li, formerly of BMW‘s iX series and iVision concepts, and James Qiu of Mercedes-Benz‘s Vision EQXX design; BMW veteran Chris Bangle served as a design consultant. James Qiu rendered an RWB Porsche 964 with a Cyberpunk Visual Theme in 2021.

Kinda makes APPLE leadership look rather silly, doesn't it? IMO, Fisker, Lucid just missed the mark entirely and looks like it has doomed them to failure. How does a phone guy do it? Who did he join with to design this vehicle? Who's going to build it and where? So many questions that need answers before this can be considered a success. I have an M3 LR and I love it but this car is very compelling.

800km on one charge. The fast charger can add a 500km range in 15 minutes.

@@k2chaos864 Those are CLTC numbers. Real world is more like 650km or 400miles of range. Real world charging numbers are 400km/250 miles of range charged in 15min, accordingly. Really great but not groundbreaking numbers. The specs, the design on the inside and outside in combination with the price is what makes this EV so compelling.

Did you test out the autopilot feature (other than switching lanes)? Can it drive itself like in their promo video? what happen to the auto park feature?

Unfortunately autopilot is not allowed in China as of right now, while auto-parking is active and is really good, it's just that you still have to sit in the car.

The full city NOA will be available for a few people in May, and I'll test that later. But on highways and elevated roads, it can drive itself better than my ET5😂. The auto parking is quite good.

lets be real - tests have proven that the cheaply used materials have some huge flaws already. Possibly dangerous with low quality brakes etc, Dont overhype this car

Of course porsche's track performance is better, just look at the hardwares, team's experiece, the tuning direction, and price. But it is interesting to see a well tuned Xiaomi race head to head with taycan
