When we think of crossovers in hockey, we often think of crossing over around a circle. While that's also an important skill to practice, we also do a lot of crossovers in a game while skating in a line up and down the ice: so-called "Linear Crossovers".
When using linear crossover you can makes small directional changes while gathering a ton of speed to blow by the opponent's defenders!
We start the video off slowly, and build up this important skill step by step until we hit full speed!
Have fun practicing!

Great explanation, thanks. There are some helpful drills off ice I like to do to get the rhythm and separation of hands to do more stickhandles. It is first time I see, you tend to "drag" the puck between crossovers. Also with bottom (inside) leg helps to really focus to extend ankle and push with big toe for maximum power.

Nice video, but way beyond my level right now. If you could do something more in-depth on the first exercise, crossing from side to side (which I can do, but not really smoothly) and also on those fast, running-type crossovers, that would be amazing.

Thanks, I have a full “regular” crossovers tutorial out (couple of years old, but still up to date, in German with subtitles). I might redo it though in English this season.

@@MarcelsHockeySchool Did you have the Quad before the Ellipse, can you tell the difference ? I am having the Ellipse for a couple weeks now but wanna give a shot to Quad also to see which one I am gonna like more. Nevertheless, any of these is a way better then a single (stock radius) plus a great benefit of going to shallower ROh without losing the grip.

@@petrvana2565 yeah I had the quad before the ellipse. The difference is honestly very small.
