In this video, I review the Powertec Levergym Footplates and I reintroduce the Powertec Workbench Dip and Curl Attachments to Home Gym Hacks and Reviews. After selling these attachments 6 months ago, I built the Powertec Spare Bedroom Gym and I recently decided it was time to once again purchase the Dip and Curl to increase my exercise selection.

I appreciate the fact you still have so much love for PowerTec and focus on the efficacy and versatility of its products. I don’t have any but too often in the community, I see people disrespecting PowerTec, especially people who had their products and “upgraded”. Usually it’s to flex the new and “better” things they have, specifically more expensive things. But I’m glad you don’t do this.

Thanks for another informative video. I particularly found value in the add on feet powertec offers for added stability. I have overlooked these because I thought they would only act as a stabilizer if bolted down. You prove that they can add some stability even without bolting into the floor. As I am about maxing out the multi system calf raise now, even when using multiple sets out of necessary to keep the weight down. I may invest in the feet now for both the multi system to reduce 'wobble'. Also for the lever gym. Thanks again! I also noticed you have the longer tricep rope with the new style handles. I have recently purchased a pair for myself from gym pin after acquiring a pin for the weight stack for a body solid g6b, which is a game changer so I can perform Mike Mentzer per exhaust/superset style training with ease in conjunction with my powertec prices. anyhow, I am actually caught in two minds about the tricep rope. Yes it is nice to have the new handle option but not totally sold on the longer rope and exaggerated stretch on tricep extensions and push downs? How are you finding yours just out of interest?

@@johnpain8380 thanks so much! I hope the Footplates work well for you in that respect and know I’m glad to have them. As for the GymPin Rope, I like it and I think it’s as good, if not a little better than two Tricep ropes used in unison. I would like for the bumper at the bottom to be a little bit wider to offer more support for my palm. I like the d handle with the RO-T8 handles or revolving handles attached better.

So one thing I’ve found that has made moving powertec machines around the gym much easier is utilizing the hole such as in those footplates to add casters. When using the machine locking the casters keeps it from moving. I’ve used it on their leg press with weight stacked up and no issues.

It's annoying how long it can take to figure out what works best for us, but once we do there's no looking back. Great video as always. Does the footplates raise the machine a bit? I have the same machine and the middle flat plate doesn’t touch the ground as the holes for the middle plate are raised a bit. My machine shakes a bit because of it. I ordered the footplates to remedy this. With the footplates is the middle plate needed?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews Ай бұрын
Thank you. It raises the machine ever so slightly (like a fraction of an inch). My middle plate was slightly raised before the footplate and it is still slightly raised. However, it is not raised so much that the bench doesn’t roll over it. If I disassembled the footplate and made an adjustment, I could probably get it lower. A few years ago, I removed the footplate, but out of an abundance of caution, I bolted it back on. It really depends on the exercises you’re doing and if the bench is attached. If you’re doing a lot of squats, Viking presses, etc., it may be wise to leave. If the bench is always connected, I personally don’t think it’s necessary.

I thought about fabricating a metal base for it to leave it set up all the time but I didnt think it was worth it. I have the PT multi gym and the PT Stand alone bench. I leave the leg extension attachment hooked up to the multi gym 24/7 and I like the stand alone bench free of attachments bc I use it for so many different things ( I also have huge a cable crossover tower/machine that I use the bench with all the time). I actually had just about every if not every attachment they make, and sold them all except for the preacher attachment bc with the cable machine I just dont need the attachments. I had their attachment stand/base thing, but Man with 4 attachments on it with all the arms and pieces poking out, it took up a good 6'x6' space in my gym. And really even more then that bc you need room to move around them. the dip attachment was the biggest and heaviest so I knew that had to go. if they maybe had a single permanent base for the dip machine and smaller modified seats or benches for some of the other ones, like a stool with the attachment tube for the preacher curl attachment, I think that would be soo much better.

How would you compare the Powertecs Dip to Titans Dip machine in regards to the resistance curve?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews Жыл бұрын
I have an older video comparing the two. As for the resistance curve, from what I remember, they are pretty similar. The biggest differences are standing vs sitting and finding a way to stay anchored for both machines. Secondly, the weight capacities: Titan has recently listed the weight capacity at 200, so I’m guessing some of the machines broke, but when I had the Titan before they listed a weight capacity, I was going quite a bit heavier than 200 and I saw others going a lot heavier than that. The Powertec is only 200 too.
