India is a land of diversity, culture, and traditions, but despite its rich heritage, it is often criticized for being unorganized. In this video, we delve deeper into the reasons behind India's chaotic and unorganized nature.
We explore various factors such as rapid urbanization, poor infrastructure, lack of political will, corruption, and cultural attitudes that contribute to the country's disorderliness. We also discuss how these issues affect the lives of the people in India and their day-to-day experiences.
Through this video, we hope to provide a better understanding of why India struggles with organization and the challenges the country faces in overcoming these issues.

When western travellers come to india they don't want to be rude so they sugar coat it like "India is so chaotic, vibrant and colourful" But what they really want to say is "why it is so messy? "😂

It's you who thinks like that. Wanna go to US or UK? Possibly you do. India is far more disciplined than Most western countries. In western cointries, you don't know how a person in front of your is going to react even in a normal situation. In India, even the most deprived person behave humanely. So please, stop watching American movies & web series, it's fckin with your brain. Stop insulting us.

But , India is colorful for sure. There are many countries in this world which don't get enough sunlight. They always look dark and dull. Like Canada, England, Russia etc. India is lucky to have all kind of seasons. We just need proper waste management and disciplined people. I've been to many cities like Bhopal , Indore, New Delhi , Noida , Gurugram which are very cleaner and better. Still there's a scope of improvement there too , although people are getting responsible with each generation

Right behaviour is never incentivized in India. This is a HUGE societal problem. * Just park correctly and you'll be stuck with vehicles all around. * Be in a proper queue at airport gates, you'll get in last * Keep the waste, you'll find it hard to dispose in a dustbin * Don't urinate beside roads, you'll rarely find clean public washrooms * Segregate dry and wet waste, garbage guys will mix them anyway In a diverse and huge society like ours, even if few people behave in self interest, others need to do the same for survival.

India needs to teach descipline deep within our own education system and home . For eg: students in Japan clean their classes and school giving extra time of theirs ,this system should be made compulsory in all schools and boards . 2) government should implement strict city management system ,city beautification and waste management system . 3) revaluation of old laws and infra development systems .

Problem with India is that 'if it's not hurting you in the immediate future, then it's not a problem at all'. We're okay with chaos, pollution, lack of discipline as long as we get through the day safe and sound. People don't give enough shit about anything. The traffic laws(not even pedestrians), the parking, the cleanliness etc. It's all just an afterthought to us.😔

There are 3 factors 1) Our society has one of the worst societal discipline in the world. And please don't give me excuses like democracy and poverty as there are many poor south east asian countries cleaner than us and we have many dictatorial countries in africa and latin America who are wayy more disorganized than us. 2) We were never taught to think in an organised way. Our society prmotes and celebrates "Jugaad" Culture, where haphazard and patchwork solutions are promoted rather than holistic proper solutions. Little things like how we transport items in loose contrary to how packaging and boxing is a norm in the more organised society's. These small things when scaled up to national stage we have this unorganized mess. 3) Lack of planned cities due to socialist ideology and rural romanticism in our political class has ruined our existing unplanned cities with overpopulation. we don't nearly see this kind of unorganization in cities like chandigarh. This is scientific theory called broken window theory which basically says that ugly places get uglier.

yess! i totally agree with you ! the first thing we need to change is out midset of not following rules. i want to share a incidant of me which happened with me today morning! so i was travelling to my collage today and i was using PMPML (pune's public transport) bus and our bus got breakdown in the road so we have had to left the bus and as i cheked my collage was about 3 km away from me so i thought i will walk till there. and as i started walking i noticed every pedestrian was walking on the road instead of footpath and they were blocking the flow of traffic bcz of that roads in main city pune are quite narrow as it is the oldest area here, but we have footpaths and proper road organisation almost everywhere but people were still not using them and i also noticed that there was too much small stalls of food items and all there on the footpath which was constantly blocking me while i was walking and i had to go on the road to dodge them and that's why i was also accupying space on the road which could have been more organised if those food stalls were not there. i dont say that they should not do there business but if they are doing this somewhere they are breaking the rules and making those resources useless.

7:48 no infra plays a very important role in organisation... imo it is not the last point but the first nd most important point. for example, here in my city varanasi, there are so many roads where there is no marking and if there are some footpaths they will be 10 to 15 cm elevated from the road and be veryyy narrow. Also, in some roads out of nowhere we can see a big electricity pole standing in between the main line which is very dangerous for someone who doesnt know about that. on the other hand in those places where everything is well maintained and traffic lights and footpaths are functtional people will follow all the rules and that place would look good and traffic jam proof. however, there will still be some beggers and vendors but overall that area would look many times better that underdeveloped areas. i'm not talking about megacities like new delhi and mumbai, over there the infra is top-notch...but in smaller cities the main reason behind chaos is underdevelopment and poor infra. My main concern is about footpaths and parking lanes. Some roads in varanasi are very wide like a highway still the govt is not making footpaths and separate parking lanes over there , so what wil locals do? they will keep parking their cars and bikes at any place they want.

Dusri taraf agr aap Delhi mai New Delhi area dekhoge to vo bhot organised lagta, kyuki vaha pe randomly street hawkers, auto, rikshaw ya private vehicle ka khada hona allowed he nahi hai. Vese to ye rules har area k lie banaye gye hai lekin New Delhi pe govt ka khaas focus rehta hai islie vaha Police or MCD strict hai, baaki sab jagah pe street hawkers police or MCD vaalo ko hafta dete hai. I'm from Nepal and in the densely populated South, the case is similar. Here I've come up with some ideas that we both brother nations can use to make our cities look beautiful (apart from maintaining cleanliness); 1. Plant a lot of tress, accomodate trees and flowering plants into buildings 2. Don't use too much color. In Maithili that type of multi-colored chaos is called "chaubaniya", yeah that word describes it perfectly. Don't make it too chaubaniya. Ancient Hindu cities didn't do this. Employ a color palette in your surrounding which blends with the nature around. 3. Don't make plane minimalistic buildings and glass-houses and skyscrapers. They only look good in sci-fi movies and suck out the human soul. Many people in countries with these "modern" brutalist buildings regret their decisions. I can give you links to studies that show why these buildings aren't psychologically healthy and why the general populace prefers traditional architecture. But even when traditional buildings are made, don't overdo the motifs, maintain balance. 4. Make good squares. Making a good city square is an art. 5. Make a walkable city. Motorbikes and cars honking around everywhere is not good. If possible ban honking except in emergencies. Kathmandu along with other Nepalese cities have done that. 6. The biggest building in the city reflects what the society values. Let it not be the Pizza house or some Bank. Make no houses bigger than a temple.

But nor India neither Nepal wil understand and implement this, and what you're saying the densely populated south or terai region in Nepal is what Nepal actually is, 70-80% of Nepalese live in terai region, actually that's the real Nepal, and India is also the same, my hopes for our countries is lost

It is a normal issue in high density, highly diverse population. Well our tradition does have such disciplinary teachings but people don't practice simple as that. Schools in my days did taught disciplines by iron fist but its not possible now. Humans aren't programms they can't be programmed to work in a certain way all the time. You can consider the people as dynamic variables in a programme, they will always behave a little different than they should behave. Standardization is not something that can be achieved anywhere. You can just make some people aware at best. In other words you can discipline people to certain extents beyond that it's not possible to standardise their behaviour unless you go full dictator mode. Even in European countries like France people have these kind of behaviour (to a less extent that's it). Paris for example is notorious for these kind of behaviour, there is literally a syndrome named after Paris because of this. Paris is portrayed as near perfect city with people with great etiquette but in reality the people there can be rude, there is a lot of crime, people are not romanticist as people assume, etc.

Poverty is definitely issue. I see a lot of markets in Noida in village area. They are very unorganized. But people cannot afford 1-2 Cr INR shops in good area so they buy these cheap shops which cost nothing in comparison. Also, there are lot of flats sold in village area which cost like 40% of high rise in proper sector. The biggest example is our Malls are turning into ghost malls since they are extremely expensive. Yet, demands of shop in poorly build area is high since they are cheap and too many people live there. So the shopkeeper pays less and get more customers. Whereas in malls its opposite.

The one thing I believe is the root cause of the whole mess we are in is, the "communist" mindset of our previous govts. Some people might scoff at reading this, but at the end of the day, countries who have had a capitalistic leaning since the previous century are mostly seen to be organized and thriving, while those with the other view point are messy like ours. If anyone has a doubt about this, check out the condition of modern Russia apart from the capital cities. The semi urban and rural Russia is even worse than India in organization and infra while Scandinavian countries which have similar climactic conditions as Russia are among world leaders in standard of living. Although I am glad that previous UPA govt and current NDA govt both have started to look towards Capitalism (while maintaining a good socialist balance). The effect of this will be seen in the next 25-30 years..

Discipline, maintaining cleanliness, being considerate of others, all these education starts at home. It says a lot about adults at home as children will imitate what the adults do at home. Than the schools have to teach those traits. Japan may not be a perfect country, but we can learn a lot on this from them.

Not army conscription but yes, NCC and boy scouts type youth organisations should be aggressively encouraged. Mandatory recruitment to army(called conscription) is prevalent in countries with either a small population or in countries with a large population but people who are unwilling to join the army(hence they are forced to join to) else they army will be very weak. India already has the 2nd largest standing army in the world(largest volunteer army). There is already an overwhelming no of youth who want to join. Recruiting more soldiers is simply unaffordable. No budget could accommodate them. The army would rather spend that budget on technology and training existing soldiers.

The root of this problem doesn’t lie in the population or in the education level of our people. The root of the problem lies in our history. What is the thousands of years India has been attacked and looted so in our people there is a scarcity mindset which has deeply rooted itself in our collective consciousness. Everybody of us wants to snatch as much as possible because nobody is assured of the future. It may be legal or illegal way, nobody cares as long is earns profit. For the thousands of years living like this has deeply affected the way We Are today. That’s why we clean our houses but litter our roads, decorate our homes but damage public property shamelessly.
