NOTE: Using MS365 (Insider Edition) I had to add a line to omit "null" values in the imported Power Query by filtering the Weekday column. First try imported over 1M rows with most being blank at the top of the imported table in spite of it not appearing in the PQ preview. Also, in PQ when merging the two columns to create the new Quarter column, it was automatically named "Quarter.1", but could be fixed right in the formula for the new column. This was a GREAT video! Very clear, and the two notes above were just in case someone else ran into those issues (I wouldn't even call them problems as they were easily fixed and the first possibly a bug!). Thank you! I was the first to view this video, but the edit to my initial comment failed and lost it. Hope the comments help others.

Thanks for the nice resources. I want to know, how to change the quarter different from the 1st of January. Here we have to start the quarter on the 1st of April. Please suggest the due matter.

this should be done inside your calendar table, you can add 2 columns in the calendar, one for the fiscal month number, and the 2nd for the fiscal quarter number, then you need to sort the month name column using the fiscal month number. the fiscal month number should be: Form 4 to 12-> deduct 3 for, and From 1 to 3 add 9. you can achieve the above using calculated columns with IF function

Does the automatic calendar table created from the PP updates itself when you add dates? or do you have to update it by hand?

HI, If there are multiple columns with date in the data file and when you will click add date calendar then based on which column power pivot will create a date calendar?

It will all check all columns containing dates in your model and fetch the oldest and earliest

@@AAAExcelI have 4 columns with the date data, I understood it will check all the four columns date and create oldest and earliest but the date calendar will create only one date column. Now in pivot I want to choose date from any one column out of 4 so how will I do that because usually the date column is taken from date calendar table. How date column in calendar table will know I want to fetch data based on which date column out of 4 Thanks

Sir thx for show all methods, but pls guide what if my data not from 1jan somewhere starts from june. Power pivot shows dates from jan. How can i get rid from unwanted dates.
