Sharing A Joyful Life

Жыл бұрын

Activities of Daily Living, or Daily Living Skills, are things that we have worked on every day, all year long, for years; and we will continue to do so in the future. Jess is an autistic adult with a cortical visual impairment and impaired fine motor skills.
Welcome to our page! We are an atypical family dedicated to sharing a joyful life alongside things like autism, blindness, complex medical histories, and mental health disorders. We hope to take some of the mystery out of what it is like when special needs children grow into special needs adults. This life can be good. Beyond challenges and frustrations we find even more joy, entertainment, laughs and good times.

Good job, Val and Jess! Looked very good to me! 👍🏻 Presentation is nice yeah, but personally I think people get to caught up in presentation over taste. Taste is more important anyway. I am sure yours tasted great and looked fine too. 😉 ♥️

Looks delicious! I make a loaded baked potato chicken casserole, and I thaw and cut my chicken into little cubes. Add to the top 15 mins before its done, or when you add a cheese topping at the end just throw the little chunks on first. That way I don't have to fiddle with wondering if the chicken is cooked ❤️ Love yall's videos

U can take the green tomato’s and cut them in bite size chunks salt and pepper them and pour enough buttermilk just enough to wet them all and stir them let them set for about 10 minutes then take the pieces out and toss then in self rising flour and some people add a little bit of corn meal then deep fry them until brown they are nice snd crunchy and they don’t get mushy .

I believe you have a hit with this recipe of chicken and rice. How do I know? Well, if you listen carefully, you will hear Jessica in the background doing her new eating stem. Yep she's doing her Mmmmm Mmmmmm humming song with every bite!!! I'm curious Valerie, How did those Fried Green Tomatoes come out? Those have become one of my absolute favorite sides, even better than my fried okra. Please tell Jessica how proud we all are of her for sticking it out and preparing this dish from start to finish!!! 👏 👏 👏

@@AutisticInterpretations cooked ground beef (I’ve never tried it with chicken), a can of cream of mushroom or celery and mix together. Put in casserole dish and lay tater tots on top. Cook based on tater tots directions. Some people put cheese between the meat and tots but it’s my favorite part on how the soup soaks into the bottom of the tots. Some also put cheese on top but cheese was never our families way. It’s one of my favorite comfort meals

@@AutisticInterpretationsIt’s actually pretty tasty and you can make it similar to hash brown casserole which might make it easier to get her to try it.

This isn't a judgement what so wver but I'm simply wondering if Jess would someone do a little French braid ?
@territ3271
@territ3271 Жыл бұрын
I think Val had a video one time about her hair. As Jessica is an adult, she has a choice of how she wants to wear her hair. Her hair and the movement of her hair and the feel of it moving, has to do with her stimming. If you’re not familiar with Stimming, it’s the little movements she makes with her hands or her hair . It’s a way that’s self soothing at times. There are times she used a head/hair band
@emilee9526
@emilee9526 Жыл бұрын
@@territ3271 you are over reacting. I simply asked if Jess liked her hair french braided. And I know about stimming. Relax. I did not say that they should fix her hair how they want to. Don't be so condescending.
@AutisticInterpretations
@AutisticInterpretations Жыл бұрын
Hi! I have gotten Jess to agree to braided pigtails only once, many years ago. I think now, it would be really hard for her to sit still long enough and have someone touching her hair for that length of a time.
