You can use a skirt on the higher end Oru's (Bay ST is one); also as there are waves in this body of water, I wouldn't call this calm, maybe class 2 ( so, 'calmer') and most Oru's specially state to not really go above class 2 anyway--in short, Oru's should NOT be used in rapids which of course is where most would flip, but not only in that case :)

​@@void_presenceit's basically flat calm. Wave that are 18" chop will put water in a kayak in short order. Happens easily in bays around Long Island.

Hi, I see you have the Bay model. I just got the Coast XT. I see that you can get a skirt to fit that. I have not got one yet. Which paddle do you use? I got the one that comes with the basic bundle. I have a life vest. I have not got the dry suit yet. I will probably need a 3-4xl as I am still on the large size. In Texas. Summer is hot. I got a kayak sump pump. I also got a dry bag. I am getting a water proof first aid kit (being a nurse practitioner). I am looking at a Eddyline Sandpiper 130. My wife and daughter are interested also. I will probably give the Oru to daughter as she has a Camery sedan. I have Subaru Outback w roof rack. I try to get everyone involved😊.

I was wondering how the sump pump worked! Good video! I got the float bags! I spent 3 years in Sitka, Ak. Boating was main part of life there. Commercial fishing, civilian boating and of course kayaking, also we had the US Coast Guard. USCG had both aircraft and boats. I remember Mustang Dry suits! You did not go out on water w/o them!
