You’re an awesome artist!!! Phenomenal paint job!👍👍👍 People don’t realize that marble is harder than it looks, if you want tha right outcome. Like you demonstrated, you hafta make it appear natural, and not as though it was purposely painted that way. Keep inspiring people!!!👍👍👍

Wow, thank you! I'm going to have decorative screens inside my cabinets for air circulation (Hawaii), and they are black metal cross-hatched. I wanted to add marble-like veins of gold on the black screens just because and was looking for a video specifically on how to do veining with a feather. I found the master! Great, great video.

Great tutorial. I used it to paint a "marble" tombstone for a Frankenstein model. Don't laugh - it worked great. The only change I made was to start with a light Grey color first, and then apply White with a sponge over the Grey.

How long does the paint last on floor tiles before it gets worn down by foot traffic?

Depends how its sealed. You can use a polycrylic or polyurethane like you would on wood floors.

It also depends on the type of floor paint used. With one it easily scratched when I’ve moved the washing machine (even after 3 fully cured coats). While the other paint I’ve used still stands strong (after 2 coats).

Ufff, not only is the work you did absolutely stunning, but so are you! Love this though, very interesting, i'm thinking of applying a thin (elastic) waterproofing layer on my bathroom floor especially to fill the 'grout lines', and thinking i'm going to copy your fantastic faux marble tile example and make essentially a floor like it's a 'one slab' - perhaps i'll even add a very thin layer of epoxy resin when it's done to make it glossy.

I really like this technique the only thing I would maybe do differently is using a grout paint instead of just a floor paint for the actual grout lines

So So Gorgeous! Would you still endorse this top coat after a year of wear? Would you do it the same way again? I am ready to top coat my project and am terrified the protective top coat will yellow the whites, or in general, just not be scrub-able. 😬

Thank you so much!! This took a very long time, but most of the time was spent not knowing what I was doing, lol. I had to experiment quite a bit to get the paint mixtures (especially the veining mix) and to figure out the technique I liked best. Near the end of the project when I had the process figured out, it went a lot faster- I’d guess 15 minutes per tile or so.

the deck paint is expensive and you need so little, can you use acrylic paint from the craft store in grey?
