I love listening to Professor Wright. A thinking and non dogmatic Christian. Rare. But oh how lovely! And slightly unorthodox ❤️👍🏼

Very interesting take on prayer. Christian prayer is spiritual! From your Soul to the Spirit of God. It doesn't need any physical or repetitious activity or saying except what Lord Jesus Christ tought us to pray, in Lord's Prayer 'as' condition applies. If we forgive others, then only we will be forgiven, not otherwise. It is practical and not theoretical or theological. It is complex, deep and conditional but through Jesus it has been made possible, simple and affordable. Amen.

Prayer is when you are alone and quietly contemplating or trying to sleep. Worldly problems or just in personal relationship will come to mind, and the Holy Spirit unknownst to you will intercede and you will make a decision that suits your conscience wherein the Spirit dwells. I have come to understand at 63 years of age, that I have been praying and my prayers answered without realising such. You will see by the way other Christians live they make similar decisions, rather safe and sound, be wary be wise, that is because we have the same guide.

I love the picture painted here that in the OT the spheres of heaven and earth intersect, indeed overlap in the temple, God living among us. As Jesus, living in us is now the new temple, God abides in us on earth. How many of us really live as if that was?

Romans 8:18-39 is about the qualification and conditions of Election by God the Father, the glorious liberty and bond with Jesus, and the commitment that entails.

Prayer is not a struggle for Christians unless you're worldly like N.T. Wright!

He’s not worldly: but you need to be honest about your pride.

Disaapointing message..Romans 8:26 is about how the Spirit prays thru us in praying in the Spirit (1 Corithians 14: 14,15) prayer in tounges. Wright should know that as he says Dr.Gordon Fee is a friend and his "God empowering presence" argues for that. This message doesnt open us the text but just makes thoughts as aside.
