Rockland Squad 3, Rescue 2 and a couple of police units responding and on-scene of a fully-involved car fire at McDonald's in Rockland. Firefighters pulled an attack line off the front bumper and made a quick knock down on the fire. Unsure how it started but may be due to it over-heating. Near the end of the video Rescue 2 can be seen leaving the scene and en-route to an EMS call. Taken: 8/30/2020. Thanks for watching!

just seeing this video now, but this was my boyfriend and i’s vehicle! it was a 1978 el camino that him and his grandfather had worked on for almost 10 years. we went to mcdonalds to get lunch and were eating in the car. he tried to start it but it wouldn’t start up and then when i noticed a flame pop up from under the dashboard so we got out and it started smoking like crazy so we ran inside and 911 was called. it went up in flames super quickly.

Yes, I was lucky! The ambulance responds with the Squad as protocol. They can assist with more man-power as the Squad only has a crew of 2 personnel. And then, if another rescue is already out, the rescue that is on-scene with the Squad can respond anywhere if they get another EMS call. Also, some of the crew in the fire gear is the ambulance crew. Pretty complicated but to me it is a good system.

@@CoolFireTrucks before the engineer pops the parking brake, that growler should be silent. Nobody needs to hear that on-scene. That’s what overexcited rookies do. And no, that not even close to quick. That’s a bread and butter operation. Train, then train some more. You put your turnout gear on before you respond, not when you arrive on scene. The net time maybe be the same, but the public perception of being slow, and the frantic urgency by the crew to get dressed all while on-scene leads to mistakes and criticism.
