Fire started from the front of the trailer and wasn’t possible to undo. Unless if the truck had a lock to the coupler that the company operator only has

Complain if the rspone isn't fast enough or putting it out correctly, complain because to many trucks showed up to put out the fire, these people would complain having to pay taxes after winning the lottery.

Good footage. I will say though my department would not be thrilled at coming off the truck to a fire call still needing to gear up. Not a good look to have the boss work the handline.

Now that there is a White Helmet who's been around for a minute and knows how to size up a scene properly... if you're up-hill and up-wind, grab the nozzle and start putting the wet stuff on the red stuff... Also teaches the new(er) guys to never let go of the hose/nozzle because someone (typically more experienced) is ALWAYS chomping at the bit to get their hands on the end

I think it's bad form for chiefs to take the line, and not using the SCBA today sets a really bad example because of the out of control cancer rates that FF have. Also, using solid stream there was a bad choice - narrow fog would have been a lot more effective, so all that guy did was reinforce bad habits

@@jmWhyMe steady stream works the best from a further distance to knock down the bulk of the fire before moving in for a closer attack/mop-up with any fog pattern... As far as the white helmet (which looked to be a Captain and not a Chief) not having his SCBA, up-hill and up-wind (as well as the distance he was hitting it from) the carcinogens and cancer risk is minimal.

@@3rdWatchMediaGroup my point is the message he sends to the junior FF, NOT the technicality of wind direction. You have to lead by example. As to solid stream, with a trailer full of lawn debris, the stream will just push burning debris everywhere, risking exposures

If the guys on the rig would've come off the truck masked the situation would have been different. The captain had to wait so they could get dressed. There is no sense in waiting when you can go ahead and knock the bulk of the fire down!

It looks like two volunteer departments got the job. Many departments call out at least two rigs so one can block traffic while tending to the run. Plenty of firefighters have been killed by cars passing emergencies. It's no big deal. Not everyone stretched their lines. I'm sure of another call came in they would have taken it.

Question why are you not on air as you arrive on scene? Back in the 80's early 90's that was basic sop, on scene struggling to do so doesn't look very good watching a vehicle become involved unnecessary. Then not packed up firefighter does initial knock down just as it should have happened. Kenneth Boren posted this.

There's a lot of work over the last few years to stop dirty kit going into crew areas, SCBA packs are often (in the UK) held in compartments rather than the crew cab. No reason why 1 can't be masking up whilst others pull lines though.

That’s 100% arson. No idiot in their right mind with a brainwave left that actually wanted that truck would have left it hooked. Takes a few seconds to pull the hitch pin and drive out from under trailer. It’s obvious ur not going to hurt the trailer. That fire was caused by to much friction in his wallet and it caught fire. Lol.

Can I truly ask why don't they run I support First Responders dearly but why do a lot of firefighters walk like nothing is wrong like you can save property but I'll walk and take time with gear

Because everyone is trained not to run, that’s how injuries occur. I am all for walking with a purpose and gearing up quickly but there is absolutely no need to run on any fireground, especially a car fire

@@demonracer2Ok I can get that but I mean isn't it made clear that they need water on that fire first I mean you can always be a far enough away to spray that quick lie they have in the front of the bumper or if they have it installed but the time of the gear while the hose could be used in that time could be better than just watching it burn when you have water there but safety I'd very much important

Wow that's interesting. Sorry I haven't been around here in a while. I've been quite busy. Now, let's talk about the scene a bit. To start, that engine that first showed up, I do not personally like those types of engines, but I was wondering what those are called? If anybody could hook me up with that that would be great. Also, toms River seems to have a lot of fires, but this was a sort of mild fire. Glad No one got hurt and not the fire got put out.
