This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver was unveiled in 2014. The watch is 42mm across the case, with a lug to lug measurement of 56mm with a thickness of 15.5mm. The watch is big and heavy, being all steel. The diver strap is soft and supple and easier to wear than the classic hornback strap.

Great watch! Love the fact you mentioned that this Offshore Diver AP has the same refinement as the classic Royal Oaks. I was looking for a classic Royal Oak in 39mm or 41mm but both are not really fitting because of the bracelet which is very broad. Funny enough, the 39mm wore even bigger than the 41mm because it doesn't taper down as much. So I'm really looking into the Offshore Diver with the rubber strap because it seems to wear more secure on a smaller wrist like mine. Sounds wrong but I've made this experience a few times before e.g. with my 44mm Panerai which wears perfectly on a rubber strap.

I work offshore and this thing isn't practical for working offshore, it is nice looking but not practical for several reasons, a 15mm thick watch catches on everything, glass even though sapphire crystal should be recessed below the bezel to reduce damage, rubber straps are crap, they break, metal link straps don't make your wrist sweat allow air flow feel nicer on the wrist, TITANIUM case and strap would be perfect, however if you are a pretend offshore worker in an office it is probably fine.

Great insight into wearing the watch. You're right, this may not be practical for working offshore. This model in particular has been designed more for a divers use than for physical work offshore. Thanks for watching our review!

The glass is supposed to be above the bezel. It's called domed crystal and that's how you know it's a high-end watch. I do agree that a metal strap is the way to go, as long as it's the newer oyster bracelet with solid links.

I would tend to agree with Ari that I wouldn't wear this watch for working but I will share that it's a fantastic dive watch. I have several dive watches, including this AP in the orange and blue, and this is one of my favorites. I've only worn it on 4 dives, the most recent in December diving the Santa Rosa Wall in Cozumel, and it performed very well, was easy to read and I haven't seen any degradation of the rubber strap. It was awesome to be able to wear it when I went out for beers with my friends after the dive. Both practical and fashionable.
