Drivers side rear wheel well cubby, near espar heater and stereo amp.

Hey Man... Doug again. With the understanding that you opted to keep the factory headliner did you go through the trouble of removing it, adding Kilmat and insulation and then replacing it again? If not, did you struggle getting the next panel off with out damaging the factory headliner? Thank you again... This is all very valuable and a very clean and thoughtful build for an active family with kids.

Spot on Doug. I kept the headliner stock as it goes with the Adwag kit nicely. I did remover as if I were upholstering it to insulate and kilmat.

Hey I saw you used the thru bolts for the speed strut install on the ribs. How did you go about doing the piece that connects to the very most forward rib at the headliner where it’s slanted. And also curious to know how you did the very most rearward piece as it doesn’t go into a rib but a thinner piece of metal at the rear? Planning on using thru bolts but curious on those two sections.

Great question and I suppose this will be tough to explain. The main answer is, I did not modify or have to do anything special, rather I loosly assembled the speed strut and then screwed it into the ribs to get the fit just right before I marked and drilled any holes for the through bolts. You are right, there are variations of metal thickness to be aware of and I found that the speed strut install had more room for error (significant error) than any other stage of the build. Thus I used a new drill bit on that stage of the build. It took some adjusting to get the placement just right. I spent a full day on that section measuring and placing those before committing to it.
