Here in the Netherlands the poles on sidewalk corners and so, are made from recycled plastic. Maybe you can make such items and sell them to the city councils. The best is to let people use less pollution plastic. Keep it up.

I predict an enthusiastic response to open source water way barriers- the entire concept captures the imagination, inspires ACTIVATION, participation. There is a clear municipal lower education tie-in.

My brother's Oceanography final project was to build an eco-barrier. He made a barrier similar to the Sungai Watch, but made from a PET bottle in the rivers of Vitória, Espírito Santo. Our entry into the Precious Plastic world is directly correlated with barriers and solid waste collection in rivers. A waste barrier in the open source model would be very interesting. Keep working together you are guiding the possibilities!

THIS IS SO GOOD! -still, I had to take a moment out to reflect. 1500 Rupiah is about 1 us cent ($0.01 USD) per kilo!!! The up-cycle factor is HUGE!

BIG UP to the guys who established this company ! big inspiration ! Im just missing some fumes sucking + filtration systems above sheet presses, in order to keep production for workers safe from long period of time. Otherwise, it could lead to a cancer, with high probability. still big inspiration !! Greetings from Slovakia :)

Yes suction system would be nice. However, Sungai Watch are just starting + working on a very open space with plenty of wind. Hopefully they'll get one soon!

Some of this first raw sheets look amazing! I would even consider to hang something like that as a piece of Art onto my wall😊❤!!! I tried out to make cutting boards out of bottle caps, melted between 2 pieces of Aluminium foil and then rolled out... (there was a DIY video on KZfaq) ... worked out very well!😊 I do frequently beach cleanings... and use some of the fishing related stuff (net floaters out of plastic or Styrofoam) to create funny looking Sculptures painted in bright colours for garden decoration... they even stand bad weather pretty well.😊

What a great project! I would be curious what they are doing to motivate people to just bring the plastic cleaned up directly to them. Like a garbage pickup or drop-off place.

So inspiring to see what the team at Sungai Watch have achieved and how they are supporting the local communities to change their behaviours and attitudes towards waste. We are at the beginning of our journey of building a plastic recycling workspace in the UK (Not yet connected with Precious Plastic) and are as excited to make what difference we can too... We wish the team the very best of luck with the next phase.

Would like to see barriers on the precious plastic ecosystem. The main challenge I was wondering about involves changes in water level. Do they find a fixed point in the river that stays the same width or do they add and remove sections as they do the cleanups?

For drying plastic bags why nit have a spinning drum with holes on the drum and ends. It can then be connected to a bicycle for someone to pedal or to an electric motor. Then put a fan at one end again csn be pedal powered or electric. Then fill the drum half watoy abd spin with fan onto. That is the simplest way. Also, clothes could be dried the same way but without heat it takes longer. Maybe start looking into off grid living youtubes to get ideas would be a good idea.
