First of all, thank you for your service. This is a fantastic idea with the 'Vette ! You will be helping many people with this one. Your old show was always one of my favorites, glad you are back, just wished I could afford to bring my '39 Pontiac to you. I like your idea of yellow.

I would never have the patients for body and paint work. That's why I worked on the mechanical and electrical side of vehicle repair

Amazing what a difference a couple of thousandth of an inch makes. Also, pro tip on adding the weight to the door for striker alignment!

Interesting solution. I’m guessing that doing that will result in you also having to adjust the gap at the top of the door. Looked pretty good before, but I’m guessing it’ll be too narrow once you finish with the hinge. Sharp corners are great stress risers. Rounding would help if you can get away with it. Reinforcing is a great idea.

Sharp corners are stress risers, once the crack starts it will propagate

Now you know why it takes three years for Dan to build a car to perfection.😂

Why would rounding the corners of the headlights be that time consuming.? One part you take material off and one part you add a bit. I come from a machining parts (not cars) background, where something like this would be commonplace. Great series, learning a lot.

Take a look at 1954 Corvettes, they have 1 inch, that's 1 inch door gaps

May god have mercy if a hand held electron microscope is ever developed. Dan will be like, "No no I need another three atoms stripped off on that inside corner.
