I bought all my parts on performance 670 website years ago. I just looked them up and i cant find the site anymore but i did find a site that sells them. performancemad.com/product-category/predator-670-engine-parts/air-fuel/page/3/ Theres all kinds of performance stuff for that engine on there. If you are putting it on a mud boat, i sugest going single mikuni carb unless your doing a big build. I fully built that motor in this video before i got rid of it and it was a monster. But cost a bit for one, for 2 alot of work. If your doing just a carb kit, do a single mikuni kit valve springs and push rods would be my suggestion for you. Dont want to slap a piston.

I got rid of the clutch. At first i had a sleve made to fit clutch to the predator but it ended up braking. So i went to motion induatries and got a pulley like the one on the prop shaft and just made it direct drive.

Stock motor with just carbs, stock frame with stock pullies I got 22-23 top speed, with carbs and a bigger pully on engine I am getting 29-30

natedegrate did you pull the governor out and did you gutt the exhaust or left them

Unfortunately I'm too lazy to pull it apart but I just bypassed it, the dual to single cable goes from carbs to throttle. No governor. And it had stock exhaust and now it has one of the ram horn headers on it with a 2" muffler.

I'm going to run it tomoro and I can post another video with the new exhaust

I didn't change the jet sizes. Just adjusted idle screw

Dual 28mm. And not in this video, later on i did a big cam, port and polished heads shaved 40, push rods springs and roller rockers

@@naterawle not gas type, but did you run Gas lines straight from carbs to the gas tank or from the carbs to a fuel pump to the gas tank

@@southernaddiction5152 it was tank, fuel line to water seperator/filter, fuel pump ( mikuni pump) then a t then to carbs

Yes but you will need to change the clutch to one that fits the shaft or go with a sprocket (no neutral)

@@naterawle it's a long tail. I'm assuming I may need a sleeve to get the 1-1/8 diameter for direct drive?

@@JC-pz5rk yea that or get a joint that is whatever size for the prop shaft and the size for output shaft on 670

@@JC-pz5rk i had a sleve on mine with clutch and it broke so just be mindfull if you use a sleve

Man i didnt change any jets i just ajusted idol screws. Runs good not fat not lean but just right

I know the pully i had was 4 teeth more than factory clutch

It was on a 1542 weldcraft. Fastest i seen with it was 30 before the bottom of boat got all bent up and with the stock mini prop

@@lukeknighton4918 over stock engine yes. A little less at low rpms but it didnt take long to wrap up to get into its band. Before dual carbs i would get 21-22 4 people ice chest, with carbs i would get 26-28 same load. Then around 21-22 with 9 people i ran once with carb setup

@@naterawle thanks for messaging me back. I’m in the process of DC mine. That’s quite a noticeable difference in speed. I imagine you removed the governor in the process. I went with two intake flanges for a 212, 28mm Kiehin carbs and a cable splitter for a banshee for a whopping total of $115~. Are you running the stock fuel pump?

@@lukeknighton4918 it was running on stock pump untill it went out, and i didnt take the govenor out with the carbs, i just ran it with it in there. Later shen i did the cam i did take it out but i nexer had problems with it. It ran around 40-4200 rpms in the water

No. Had a clutch from the 23 vangaurd and i had to put a shim around the shaft to be right for the clutch and it ended up breaking and the clutch messed up so i pulled it off and made it direct drive

Running a 23hp vanny now and love it smooth as silk and decent charging system and I can now run a clutch becuase the 1 1/8th shaft diameter

natedegrate is what really happen Ik the othe day the water fell out and I was just going throw stright mud with 3 people and gear and was riding around for 6 hours and at full rpm I had a vibration sound coming from the cylinder by the starter and then it started to make a squiling sound ran all the way back to the boat ramp that night and if you try to trun the prop feels like it’s bonded up in the motor did something like that the other day but the next day ran fine think scored a piston

When your valves are like that does it have a bad rattle at high rpms or what’s it do
