how does it compare to a rotax 600 or 800-850 etc? My yz-250 pushed 48hp stock and my OMC sled motor even more. Are you runnihnig xd-100 etec oil or amsoil dominator? I got my sled motors, yz-250 and kohler toro mower on xd-100 amsoil dominator. i just bought 6 gallons quicksilver synthetic TCW3 to fill my 8v92 detroit 2 stroke from walmart and its way cleaner than rotella. The synt tcw3 has high film strength and runs and burns cleaner but its little more pricey!

Here is a trick you can do for more power Advance the spark. I saw two magneto and that might have an adjustment. 1 use a rotary file, cut slots into the mount hole and elongate the mount holes. Use a large washer afterwards to lock it down and keep tensions 2 not sure if the flywheel has a key. If it does, grind the key to half the thickness so you can advance the spark by rotating the flywheel on the crank 3 if you have a small airport nearby, pickup some blue gasoline. When I did it was 108 octane high lead but I think it is 100 octane low lead now. Not quite sure. 4 mill port and polish the heads. Possible a thinner gasket. Take a 4 inch bolt, sandwich some coarse steel wool between two large washers, and get a drill and polish away. Remember to blow the doors off everyone around you. Vroooooom Just some old tricks to get more power

Fyi, that is called timing gain or delay. The carburetor can alter time if he sets a higher idle with slow time it will synchronize at the high rpms. Dragsters have used this over 50 years.

I used to run a honda twin on a pulling tractor and we loved it. We made a custom intake and manifold ourselves, milled the heads as much as possible, stroked the crank .60, and ran stock rods and cam, it turned 6k to 7k rpm easy and had tons of torque. I've been wanting to build a preditor the same way and now that I know you can get a cam and everything, should be awesome.

The original hole for the govenor shaft I would recommend tapping for a fitting same with both valve covers. The reason for this is to keep the oil in the block and so it doesnt build up in the heads. I know it's more prone for the single cylinder engines like the 212 because at 7000+ rpm you dont wanna spin a rod bearing. It helps the oil flow back into the block and not build up in the head.

@@jacquesblaque7728I bow in gratitude to your analogy relating to viscosity and drag. Profound! So im mulling over your "400 footer into the center field stands" statement and Im thinking...all oil is slippery, but viscosity options when applied to protecting a gasoline engine makes the oil (for lack of a better alphabetical grouping) tunable to the demands put on the parts,with the dissipation of excessive temperature being job 1.Then all the other possibilities that manipulating the drag of motor oil as it travels over various parts Can only bring more positive options.The 100 foot aisle of oil choices suddenly makes ridiculously excessive levels of sense .Thankyou! I raced small capacity 4 stroke twins in the 80's and these carbs a re very similar to the Mikuni units we used. Here's something to try, put a connecting pipe between the two inlet stubs and then balance the carbs so they flow exactly the same, when balanced connect the new pipe and test the difference. Also this engine would almost certainly respond well to a reverse cone megaphone exhaust, a little experimentation could give good results. Nice build and none of this is criticism just passing on years of building em.

Hi..liked the video, nice job. I use the Predator and similar HP V2 engines on ultralight aircraft. The engines are installed stock but without the governor. In our case propeller load controls engine RPM, usually set at about 4000 RPM max. Engine reliability is especially important in aviation so I'm reluctant to boost the engines all that much. As HP is boosted, heat dissipation becomes a greater concern. I'd install head temp or oil temp gauge to monitor heat, especially if OEM air shrouds are not used. Oil cooling is a great way to control engine temps. The OEM oil cooler rad depends on shroud controlled air flow to provide proper operation. Without the fan and shroud I would consider a larger oil cooler if engine heat becomes an issue. I'm guessing an after market automotive tranny rad would be something to look into.

U should put a supercharger on that thing, really liven it up. Plus they don't cost very much for something that small.

Let me know if you’d be interested in me machining some weight off that flywheel for you. No charge.
@xxzenonionnex7658
@xxzenonionnex7658 4 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter if you remove let weight if it's a cast flywheel because it probably have small and bubbles. And billit flywheels have way less bubbles and are more solid than cast ones . So if you machine away weight and make it thinner it will be more likely to explode that it would before you remove weight because it's more brittle.

Isn’t a heavier flywheel better for off road use?
@joshdupont2209
@joshdupont2209 3 жыл бұрын
@@isaaczahra6246 the stock flywheel is good for torque and slower revving up. Billet flywheels arw lighter and rev faster and are better for high rpm

Polishing doesnt always work..as some roughness is better for swirl...hence fuel/ air mix.

At around 4K rpm the valve is opening and closing 33 times a second. There’s plenty of turbulence to mix the gas. Polish =flow=GO!

cars and cameras proved you can do a lot with stock hardware, just dont expect this thing to turn 9kRPM without a fan explosion or throwing a rod, all in all, i will say this thing sounded sweet, cant wait to see it on the buggy and making some power, also glad to see you back at it man what doesn't kill us makes us stronger and adversity breeds success, keep at it my friend
