Thank you so much for this video! I have RA since a teen and I'm 44 now. However, just recently I've noticed how round my face and stomach were. This time around I've been taking the prednisone for about 2 years 🙄 I've always swollen up but NEVER looked like this or weighed this much. The weight gain and retention are extremely crazy because I don't eat a lot but my stomach is sticking out. I'm so self conscious because I can't just get rid of it overnight 🥺 I'm definitely going to try these things!

I also have Nephrotic Syndrome and on 60mg of prednisone, I gain weight overall but it’s not visible, I still look the same but it’s my face (double chin) it comes suddenly, insomnia, shaky hands and knees and fatigue and the hunger. It just makes me feel so horrible, ugh!

I am 13, i was diagnosed with GPA disease early February 2021. I started on prednisone around the 12th of February at 60mg, and the first time i noticed the moon face was 6 days later. I’m tapering down 5mg every 10 days now. Now that it’s April i’m on 30mg going down to 25mg in two days. I’m so self conscious about my moon face and double chin.

wait no way i’m 14 and in february this year i got diagnosed with gpa wegners too they started me on 40 mg each day but i’m doing better so they lowered it to 30 mg for now but still the side effects are showing to me ever since i was in the hospital for a month for treatments and everything. i thought it was kinda surprising that i’d find someone close to my age with this disease because it’s super rare but i hope you’re doing well and i’m praying for you!

When I was 11 I was diagnosed with ITP and my doctors told me to take 10mg prednisone and I remember my teacher asking me why the right side of the face was swollen and bigger than my left face. I didn't understand what she was talking about and the next day I noticed my face changed. I tried taking a picture using back camera and my face is literally asymmetrical T-T. Like, I have the moon face on the right side of my face while I look perfectly normal on the left side and I'm REALLYY insecure about it. I am now 15 and I just found out that the cause of my face symmetry was because of prednisone. I'm gonna try your massage and I really hope it works. Thankyou for uploading this video

I'm so sorry to hear you're going thru this, it is so hard when you are young and in school. I was on prednisone off and on thru school, so I know how the body changes can be so frustrating. I hope the massage helps, also try a good healthy diet and talk with your doctor about it! If one side is bigger, I worry about maybe a tooth infection perhaps? Please talk with your doctor about this to be sure- because prednisone can increase your risks for infection. & check out Dr Megan The Prednisone Pharmacist on youtube , she has some great tips!

I’m on pred since early December. Ie over 6 months. I’ve lost 2 stone. Sleep very well and have some moon face but not podgy elsewhere. However I could have some other condition that is causing the weight loss. I might start face and neck tapping for my face or will a small paint roller do the job? Ha ha.

Hi does moon face ever go away? And if you had a pretty structured face can you get it back ?
@SuperLoopieWoman
@SuperLoopieWoman 3 жыл бұрын
I am pretty confident that you can get rid of the moon face & get your structure back I'm not a doctor of course, but speaking from experience, doing the facial massages, drinking plenty of water, eating healthy and exercising...anything is possible. This will all help improve and move things along, but if you are on steroids long term, this can be difficult to achieve. Once the dosage is complete, things should slowly return to "normal" Let me know if this video helped at all! Speaking about the face- has anyone found anything helpful for the butterfly rash?
@SuperLoopieWoman
@SuperLoopieWoman 3 жыл бұрын
Good question! I started using products specifically for facial redness, to help. They make all kinds of products now for redness/color correcting. Face washes, lotions, primer, color correcting concealer, CC foundation or tinted moisturizer, finishing powder....etc. My personal favorite brand for treating the redness/butterfly rash is "Clinique™ Redness Solutions" product line. I also like "IT Cosmetics" CC Cream. There are other brands out there of course, so play around with products and see what works. If you have a Clinique counter near you, I suggest going for a "consult" to try out some products **This is not sponsored** Let me know what you find that works for you! I’m a transplant recipient and been on prednisone now on 5mg of it. I’d say use the jade roller and drink lots of water, You could also drink hot green tea every day to pee out all the retaining water. Working out going for a walk daily is also a PLUS!! to reduce discomfort and lose the weight from this headache of a pill. Hope you stay well ✌🏾

You can spend as much or as little time massaging as you would like! I'm on 15mg per day currently , and massage less than 3 minutes ( mostly because I'm exhausted and am chronically running late) , but when I have time I'll do a nice 5 minute massage . I have also gone to a day spa where I have gotten a professional facial where they spent an hour+ pampering my face, massage included. That is when I have noticed the biggest difference.

I’ve had steroids for Hodgkin disease (I was 16 at the start, I’m now 17) for a total of 7 months with breaks (first two months 125mg a day, last 5 months 75mg a day), I’ve been off steroids for about 6 weeks now and my face is quite a bit less puffy but it’s still far from where it was. How long do you think it would take before it’s all normal again? (I don’t take any steroids at all at this point)

@SuperLoopieWoman 2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry for the delayed response - I'm hoping you are doing well! It is hard to say, I've been on only 1mg daily for a while now, and still have the residual puff/double chin. I have been going thru a bad depression, so I honestly haven't been doing the massage or eating properly. I would recommend you keep up with the massage, as often as you can. Drink LOTS of water, and minimal salt and sugary snacks. Thanks so much for checking my channel out! I appreciate you!

Looking at some of the replies back to some of these comments, this girl seems more worried and focused on getting followed and subscribed to her channel instead of genuinely answering questions and caring. Anyone that’s on Prednisone I feel your pain, The jade tool is a good idea but everyone is different. It takes more work for others… I’d suggest Drinking lots of water and hot green teas with No!! Becca it seems like your comment was moreso looking for the likes. This is literally my first time watching this young lady and she's been very informative, her tone very genuine and engaging as if you were there with her while she walked you through the steps. Lastly, EVERYBODY on YT is here for views! If you're making a video it's literally because you want someone to see it. Some people literally just want to help someone because hey I know that a lot of people are going through this. If not she should just record herself talking in the phone and accumulate the videos. Now whether they are monetized or not is different but not your business because your money isn't going towards paying her. Time is money and time is the most valuable tool we have at our disposal. You should be using yours to go find something to do! Because this time you spend watching her isn't paying you!!
