This video and worksheet on affixes (prefixes and suffixes) and word roots. Learners are given definitions, examples, and practice with each word part. They can use the video notesheet above to answer practice questions. Then, the video gives the correct answers and explanations.
This video and worksheet were created by a US public school teacher of ESOL students studying high school English curriculum.
This video includes subtitles in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese, as well as auto-translate in many languages. To view the subtitles and transcript, follow these steps:

Hi Aman Lakra, as it seems you are already doing, study as many roots, prefixes, and suffixes as you can remember. Also, if you see an unfamiliar word on the exam, try to think of a word that you know that looks similar--often words that look similar share a root, as well as nuances of meaning. Also, do you have any practice entrance exams? If so, circle unfamiliar words on it--especially words that appear a few times--and learn them. Often, words on practice exams are also on the actual exam (but not always, of course). Best of luck to you!

It is the same as a root word. It is the main part of a word that you can add a prefix or suffix onto (so we make words using prefix + base word/root word + suffix. )
