If no one else tells you, thank you for being willing to help a child a need. For the right reasons, sometimes people become foster parents for all the wrong reasons and children are hurt worst.

Oh I didn’t realize in the US they don’t assist financially. I️ raised all my stuff and paid the rest myself. I️ believe you think I was attacking this family not the case. I️ was simply saying the baby would be hers to raise if they thought she was a threat the babe would be removed. She would revive money for her baby. I️ don’t judge if that child isn’t to their liking that is there family. Just wish more people would have faith in these kids and break the cycle. I’m sure they are loving ect as why I️ watch them.

Would you not just be teaching her to be a mom? As it is her baby. I teach young moms and recovering addicts. Give them a chance to learn the basics so her babe doesn’t end in care. End the cycle

Its not just a matter of teaching someone to be a mom. Double the doctor's appointments, double the morning sickness, double the labour, double the crying babies, double the diapers, double the hormones. And then you have the additional issues of the infants being exposed to eachother - a lot of pediatricians recommend no non-related kids under 3 for the first 2 months of a newborns life. You'd basically have two different baby-shaped petri dishes living side by side. As well as the additional logistical nightmare of fitting 3 car seats in a backseat. The fact that they were so willing to consider taking on all the challenges of that speaks volumes about them. There are confirmed saints less saintly than that...

Therapy to because honestly unless you're healing these people's brain they're just passing on their mental illness to their children and what sets you up better for depression or anxiety than being a young mother. Maybe not the same mental illness but a mental illness all the same... therapy is important. What is important to note that it can also look different for everyone! 💓

From your videos, it seems clear to me you guys are meant for teenage placements! Not to say you wouldn’t be wonderful parents to younger children, because you absolutely would! As someone who grew up in the system from the age of 7-18 years old, I would’ve loved to have even just one caring foster family.

We are foster parents also. We also first became licensed around Christmas time, 4 years ago. It is definitely an up and down rollercoaster with placements. We open our home to 0 to 17 any gender, but our last few placements have been teens. We have had a teen mom, she gave birth just after moving in with us. She is an amazing mom to our grand daughter! We are so thankful we had the opportunity to have her in our home and now as a part of our family. To those reading who are thinking of fostering teens, please do! They need so much love!

So I found your channel & have literally binge watch since 430am . My granddaughter was placed in foster care & it's been EXTREMELY difficult for me to deal with any of this. Foster homes in my mind I immediately think of all the horror stories, but watching you has given my heart & soul the peace needed pull until we go to court. BLESSINGS TO YOUR FAMILY FOR OPENING YOUR SELVES & HOME TO NURTURE THESE KIDS DURING A ROUGH TIME.

I’ve been watching your channel recently and I just want to say I love what you guys are doing. When I was a pregnant 15 year old, CPS got involved and tried to remove me and my siblings from our home. I still don’t know why they were so intent on removing us from our home (they tried to claim my parents neglected us by leaving then fourteen year old home alone, and when that didn’t work for them they lied in court and completely made up statements). I mean, I’ve heard so much about their lack of resources I would think they would have left us alone and focused on those who actually needed help. Luckily, the judge saw ghat we were in no way in a harmful situation. I was absolutely terrified during that time. I didn’t know what was going to happen to me or my baby, if I would be able to continue to see my midwife and give birth in the hospital, etc. My case was dismissed the day before my due date (two days before my induction) and I didn’t even know if I would be allowed to have my mother with me. Knowing that there are amazing people like you willing to step in and help children just as scared and hurting as I was means a lot to me, even though I never actually went into care.

In our area the foster Family is supposed to transport the kiddo back to their original school they try to place kiddos within a 30-45 minute drive from the school.
@inalaska1208
@inalaska1208 5 жыл бұрын
That's the same school but I bet it's inside the same school district if a child moves outside the school district that school is not required to still educate the child. Just as if I moved to a different city by choice the school isn't obligated to allow my child to attend any longer.
@reggie7956
@reggie7956 4 жыл бұрын
In Alaska, Wisconsin rules allow children to open enroll if they are out of district. The parents can keep the child in the school the child was enrolled in if they move during the year but they are responsible for transportation. Each state has their own rules. I find it incredible that CPS would have the requirement to transport a foster child outside of the district though... that is a strain on a family, making it less likely for people to want to take on fostering.

goal for us is to foster as well, our town only has one foster family and a very big meth problem, trying to get the house fixed up enough to do it though, it's paid off it but it needs work to be a comfortable place for kiddos. and color me judgemental but if she got pregnant in their care that tells me that they may not have been anywhere near as attentive to her needs as they may have claimed to me. blood or not love and the right example and dedication of your time should certainly prevent a 13 year old from getting pregnant especially in a situation riddled with rules and needing to be so on top of things.. maybe im wrong but yeah just my thoughts
@reggie7956
@reggie7956 4 жыл бұрын
Jill Seufert I think many would also have your assumption that the first foster family is somehow lax because the girl became pregnant. However, without knowing the exact circumstances, that is only an assumption. Children often find ways around rules and careful monitoring. For example, one 13 yr old in our school became pregnant during school- the couple found a secluded spot not caught on the cctv system. Her parents did not allow any contact with friends (male or female) outside of school. Eventually, the cameras did catch them, but it was too late- she was 5 months along. Mom and Dad are dedicated parents, raising their children in a loving Christian home.... but the girl rebelled against the strict rules. They have since relaxed and allow her a normal teen life...while helping raise her son. My point is that there is nothing that is fool proof when it comes to kids- careful not to jump to conclusions. I’m glad you are working towards licensing, there is a definite need in rural areas!

Resource - I want to let you know of a great resource! I used to work as a parent coach and would teach parents about child development. Now I volunteer with an organization called Young Lives. it is a part of the organization Young Life that directly aimed to support pregnant teens and teen moms. In the chapter that I'm volunteering withsome of our teen moms are in foster care and one of our pregnant girls is also in care. If you have a chapter near you, please consider reaching out to the coordinator for support. It would give her a great opportunity to learn some life skills and have a fun time with other teens in a somewhat similar situation to hers without judgement. www.younglife.org/Locator/Pages/default.aspx

If you can, avoid the sexual abuse children. You have your own baby. Speaking as a child who was raped at baby to toddler age by teens of both genders that my parents were fostering. It isn't worth your child's safety to bring a sexualized child into your home. People who dont have their own kids can take in the sexualized ones. I still want to foster some day despite what happened to me, but my parents only know half the story and still consider one of my abusers to be family because they have no idea. You might not even be that lucky, your child may never say anything if it happens to them, they might be too young to say anything even if they wanted to. Physical abuse, drug abuse, lack of money at home... there are a million other stories that deserve your care, but parent to parent, I would never risk my baby's safety by bringing a wild card into the home like that. Please consider turning down any case of sexual abuse down at face value. Those kids will get help, but it doesn't have to be from you.

I don't really see how this is clickbait. Yes, it is an eye-catching title, but there is nothing remotely false about it. They received a placement call for a pregnant teen, and that is what the title says. They don't disclose any personal information about the children. I don't think calling it disgusting on their part is quite on point, especially given how nice and considerate they are throughout the video. Perhaps your judgement was a bit too quick, though I see where you're coming from.
