It is truly incredible to hear this recording. It is one of the best I have ever heard of the Prelude and Fugue in B Major. The organ, the acoustics, the cathedral are a mystical experience. I was lucky enough to be in Truro Cathedral before a concert and was allowed to improvise a little on the grand piano. Uplifting! Unfortunately I didn't hear the organ at the time as it was a piano concerto by Poulenc. Vielen Dank für Ihr grandioses Spiel Herr Piazza.

This piece really puts an organ - and the organist - through their paces. Truro is so fortunate in having this glorious Willis instrument; and its lack of case provides it with a 'contemporary' appearance. Thank you for posting this wonderful playing.

A musical miracle !

The music really sings with each phrase having a real voice, nothing rushed or snatched. The articulation is so rewarding in this performance. The fire and colour of the Willis is a servant to the music. I second comments about the right tempo.

Fugue at 2:54. Masterfully done. Outstanding work by an accomplished virtuoso. Also the placement of the organ at Truro Cathedral is brilliant. Too often pipe organs, even major instruments, are placed in afterthought positions, and then people wonder why they lack “presence.”

Wow. I've heard this piece a lot over the years, via live performances, audio and video, but this is one of the best videos (and best sound on a video) that I have encountered. The playing is flawless and the registrations used are perfect to bring out the 'feel' of the piece, and IMO, Dupre's vision, especially in a venue such as Truro. The tempo for that space was also perfect. Too often, if it's too fast, the sound gets muddled and the piece loses its impact. Not here. Very well done. I look forward to exploring some of your other videos.

But now, I'd tell my own students, play the way you want, if it helps you hit the notes and communicate the music. Nice performance, too!

I think playing with socks is unprofessional. My university organ teacher would not allow any student to do that. However, this is a wonderful performance.
