This is the best video on the topic. And this is the least annoying video. I can’t deal with someone taking something out of their pack, patting it several times, using their other hand to add elucidating gestures (lol) and then putting it back. The worst is the patting😩

I always love seeing full, in-depth descriptions of bag contents. knowing the whys and hows are just as important as the whats to me. It has helped me debate my own bag immensely. I know bags always evolve, and seeing the reasons why make it easier to make a decision. Amazing video!

Extremely helpful video. Love your content. Greetings from Germany! One small edition regarding titanium: It conducts heat less efficient than stainless steel (this is also why you burn food inside more easily). But the advantage ist that it keeps the heat of a meal inside your cup better (compared to stainless steel).

Thank you I appreciate it. I currently use Faraday NX bags. They have been properly tested with very good results. amzn.to/3yUV4nY You can also get them in singles if you go to disaster Prepper.com. Shoe wise I normally run Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 Trail Running Shoes with Darn tough or smart wool socks. I do carry a small fishing kit but I'm not 100% sold on it. I have alot of water and fish where I'm at so it's more of a why not decision for my environment.

Ive watch dozens of these kinda videos this is one of the best and most complete kits ever. May I recommend adding like 6 or so nails. They're cheap light and super super useful

As always thanks for the excellent content and your priceless knowledge on the topic, and amazing job for doing that in one take. I have to say that this is One of the best BOB I have ever seen. That said I feel the needs to share the things that I would upgrade in this setup: 1) Instead of the regular Chem Stick in your chest rig, you coud use the "Nite-Ize Led Glow stick"; because it has a run time of around 60hrs, its waterproof and can be turned on and off (but it uses small batteries). 2) For my expirience and knowledge, you could upgrade your Bacho for the "Silky F-180 Folding Saw", because it has the same dimension but is far superior than the Bacho: in Stroke Efficiency (it cuts only on the Pull and not on the Push), for the Better Blade (Hardening of the teeth and stenght of the Blade itself); and for what i know they have a very similar weight. Hope it could be helpful; keep up the good work !

some Science I learned: regarding shemagh with water around your neck to keep your body temperature low. It does the opposite! Your skin acts like a thermostate. Meaning give it a cold impulse it will signal the body to produce more heat. The only places at the body where cold does impact you body temperature the way you like is the palms of your hands and the bottom of your feet.

A good comprehensive kit, quite similar to mine. Just one on map marking, I never mark maps as it shows your intent to potential hostiles. Also permanent pens are better for writing on any kind of waterproof surface, as non permi pens will wipe off with rain or sweat. You can use nail varnish remover pads or deodorant to remove permanent pens.

I keep black pepper for processing deer in ga while it's still warm to keep.flies.off of it while we qr the deer up. Really helps

In addition to my B.O.B/I.N.C.H bag, I have a Wazoo Cache belt to wear. If I have to drop everything, I still have some rudimentary gear to build a shelter, start a fire,etc.

Thanks for taking the time to show us the full contents of your bag. You make great use of the pounds you put in it. I actually don't see anything I wouldn't pack, in fact you gave me a few ideas for perimeter security, and I am going to invest in some night vision. If you could throw some ideas out there for a monocular or binoculars I would appreciate that, since I don't need it on my rifle. I do however need something for night navigation. Great video content, man, and also do you ever carry a tent? I'd rather not, but my fiance is not quite ready to sleep on the ground. However, she is coming along really well. What type of boot/shoe do you use especially if you plan to trek twenty plus miles? Thanks for all you do. Please, keep it up

Thank you I appreciate it. Unfortunately night vision isn't cheap but is a amazing tool. I personally would recommend and PVS14 style device. It's a monocular that is currently used by alot of militaries. It's small, rugged, light weight and definitely improves your navigation abilities. TNVC.COM is the location I go to get mine. As for night navigation their are a few ways you can do it. A garmin GPS has night vision mode,if you also have night vision. they also make a compass that you can attach to the ocular housing of you NVD so you can use it while wearing the device. Or a compass and a cylume chem stick, coupled with you pace cound works on the cheap and easy spectrum. I personally don't use a tent but depending on your environment you can use a hammock if you do t want to be on he ground. As for shoes I run Solomon Xa pro 3d v8 trail runners i. The summer. Shoes are tricky because you need to find out what works for you in your environment and your own foot. Trail Running Shoes are a good place to start in my opinion. Hope that helps PA

Because i have seen war and natural disaster, i have seen evacuations (bugging out), and things like water, food, staying warm at night and comfortable shoes were a lot more important than anything else.

I pack mine in the bottom of the bag now that I have a larger pack. Before it would be on top or on bottom external of the pack and In a waterproof roll top bag.

Loved the video, thank you for going over your gear! Quick question, have you tried other folding saws than the Bahco Laplander like Silky and Opinel's offerings? I've heard good things about the Silky's but would be interested to hear if there is much of a difference. Thanks!

I personally have not tried them but have heard both of those companies make very good products. The reason I went with the Laplander is the weight. The last time I checked it's the lightest folding saw on the market.

2nd time I've watched this one I think. The details of pack/loadout videos really help. Is 10 x 25 enough on the monocular? My binoculars are more than that & sometimes I want even higher, but usually I'm surrounded by trees anyway. I definitely want to go mono, but wondering how fragile they are & if I need a padded bag for it, or even a hard case....Maybe a Faraday bag??

The 10x 25 works fairly well. I would prefer more magnification but it only gets heavier. I had to make a decision. More magnification for more weight or less magnification for less weight. As for durability, it's fairly rugged. I'm not easy on it and I have had no issues.

I love this video. I get something out of it each time I watch it. I am so close to buying that pack right now, There really is only one thing that I cannot look past, and that is the limited colors. It doesn't need to be any particular camouflage pattern, but I would not complain if it did have some type of subdued pattern. I have looked at this pack, researched it, and I know it is a great pack. I am just having trouble with colors. I feel like they should at least offer some earthy tone options. The white is going to stand out way more than I want it to, and they black is going to be a sun magnet in the hot, and humid climate I live in during summer. If you have any input on this matter for me or know of another bag that is similar in quality, and size, weight, etc, that may have some of these options I have mentioned please let me know. I can afford it, finally but that is the issue I have with it at this point. For me, it is a big one. Anyway, I love the video. I think this is my third or fourth time watching it, and I usually leave a comment, because it just covers everything. Thanks again for your content.

I hope this thing is as cozy, and comfortable as I think it will be. 2lbs is just surreal to me. It is going to be a whole different world, and honestly, my lumbar spine is not what it used to be, so I think it is time for a change. I feel good about the investment. It was a different experience at first but when you get used to it It's beneficial. In the worst-case scenario for some reason, if you don't like it. The resale value is extremely good. This pack has a triple crown- AT, PCT, and CDT and did I mention it has been to the summit of Everest? No I'm not a salesman or do I get paid by them lol I just like their products. So this is more.of a bob for moving on foot outdoors. I have one for this also but I've been wanting to make one more for let's just say there was a chemical spill in ur local area and u had to evacuate to a hotel or something. What would u change for this. ?

It honestly depends on the amount of time I had from being notified of the incident. If I had to leave right now, this second I'm grabbing my bag and beating feet. Now if I had maybe 15 min then of course I would bring some creature comforts and some extra clothes and important documents with me in case it goes longer then expected.

Hard question to answer unfortunately. It mainly comes down to how far your going to travel and what environment you will be traversing through. I would gather you gear you plan to pack then decide on a bag size. Just my opinion.

@@PreparedAirman A cheap ham radio is Baofeng UV-5R. I don't recommend but is way cheap and you can buy without a license, but need one to transmit. Emergency FCC says you can use but only in emergency without a license. I like the AnyTone AT-D878 but is alot more $$. You can do FM radio on it, but both radios will do NOAH weather.. Yes, lots of options with radios

Sorry quite new to the channel but what kind of distance would you be expecting to use your bugout kit over? And at what distance would you just literally not bother with a bug out kit? So under 30 miles just get a folding bike?

All depends on situation and if I'm on foot or not. If I was on foot the bag right now is set up for about 140miles. With pre established Cahes set along the way I can do 420miles if I "had too" which Is over dubble the distance to my main bug out community.

I've been saving up for nvgs probs will be the only one I ever buy so what are some things I need to look for when buying? I Kno green and white phos. I know gen 3 is best. But that's about it. Maybe even a good source if u have one.

I would recommend a PVS 14 type device that's gen 3 and auto gated. Green or white is your preference honestly.I have used/ownd both and tend to side with white personally. I wouod avoid used unless you really know the story or background of the device or its cheap. TNVC is a great Night vision company. (No affiliation) that's who I go through to get all my Night vision gear and equipment.

For my setup and all my gear, the 3400 is just enough with no extra room. I prefer the 4400 for the extra "what if" space.

Can you ride a bicycle in your kit? I built mine so that I can ride a bicycle to get home. You can turn 10 days into 3 days with a bicycle. I am Grimm

@@PreparedAirman my pack has a poncho, poncho liner, a fixed blade knife, a stainless steel water bottle, a ferro rod, a small water filter I want as light as possible while still being functional

does it include your chest rig as well? it seems a lot but weight not too heavy

Yes that includes everything. Full bag, 13,000 calories, sleep system electronics, clothes, chest rig night vision, water, and misc. I've taken the time to eliminate excess and un needed weight.

It appears they don’t make the goal zero aa power bank anymore but it’s exactly what I’m looking for. Anybody have alternatives?

I have potentially found a replacement. I personally have not tried this item yet but it appears to do the same thing as the goal zero pack but for less cost. amzn.to/3yQQoPU I may try it out soon. It's currently only 10$ so I may give it a try. Like I said I haven't used it so results are unknown. I hope that helps! -PA

@@PreparedAirman I have a 15x15 aquaquest defender tarp in my bag as a shelter for my family (wife and small child) right now. It's like 7 lbs. Do you think that's too much weight? I could use a tent instead but it'd probably be the same amount of weight but I wouldn't be able to configure as many different shelter options as I would with the tarp. I dont know. What are your thoughts on shelter set ups for a family bugging out?

For my family we all carry separately the same usgi poncho. This allows us to connect them together to make a larger shelter if needed.Dont forget the mosquito nets aswell. Other options would be get a lighter weight tarp made from thinner nylon or dyneema. You could do individual hammocks with built in rain Flys aswell.

If I had the choice I would never ever bug out on foot. That's far too slow and costs too much calories.

I would agree. I personally prepare and train for the worst possible situation. No vehicles, no gas, no transportation. After that your left with your feet.
