Dear Heidi, Please don’t ever stop staying “God is good all the time”. I think of you saying it often and it really helps me keep going. I feel like I’m the only one who believes in God in my family so the constant reminder is very much appreciated. You are a quiet, positive, helpful light in this world that is desperately needed. I hope I confirm to you your usefulness! I’m still looking for mine! God Bless and keep up the good work.

We work harder now than when we had jobs. People comment on how they wish they could play in the garden, never realizing how much work goes into growing and then preserving the food. Bartering is going to become more important than ever, and it takes time to build relationships. Thanks you for this testimony, I really enjoyed it. Shalom!

Bartering and being part of a community will be the way we survive as this economic crash unfolds. Yes, not being so beholden to a job is great BUT it entails hard work. It all takes thinking outside of the norm and employing as many free, donated or low cost resources as we can find. We have been trained to be consumers that generate more trash than can be processed into something useable. This needs to stop before we are buried in our own waste. Great video Heidi!

Heidi, thank you for sharing my testimony. I hope it helps empower people to create the life they desire. I am praying for you and your family during this time. To answer the question at the end... I bought the Freeze Dryer paying 10% of its normal cost. Brought it home and diagnosed and fixed it myself. It was the only way I could obtain one. And I knew nothing about FD'ers. Thank you for your kindness Heidi.

Understand never being done! We named our farm Round Tuit Acres just for that reason..definitely not a fancy place or all neat & tidy, but it’s ours.

LOVE that name!! And honestly, the neat and tidy yards have been really getting to me lately. I just look at all the dandelion free lawns (that have little signs that they had just been sprayed) and think...All of the land could be used for growing...vegetables, native plants, etc. Lawns to me are just not necessary - but that's not the way society wants us to think! (Apparently I needed to get that off my chest this morning...didn't expect to write all of that! LOL)

Oh my gosh I love that name.... We actually had a round to it... it hung on the wall in my house growing up... I need to finish making the one I was creating for our own house.. Thank you for the reminder. And work is never done here!!! LOL

Oh WOW!! I NEVER would have thought to strike a deal with brewers for leftover products! That is a genius idea!!

@@TheBettencourts How did you go about proposing that deal with the breweries? Just asking them if you could buy the leftover or "waste" for a discount so they didn't have to waste the money?
@TheBettencourts
@TheBettencourts Ай бұрын
@@homesteadgamer1257 That's a great question. The "fermented grains" are actually considered a waste.. garbage product. I found out by overhearing my husband talking to his brewer friend that he throws them in a heap of a compost pile. I perked up and asked.. If I could make them into edible food and share it with you would you bring them to me? He was intrigued and got hooked after I shared the graham crackers I made with some of his grains he brought me and I turned them into flour. Also some of the bread I make is amazing. It adds a depth of flavor. You shouldn't pay for the waste product in my eyes. But make it worth their time to bring it to you or save it for you to pick up. I have videos on the recipes I have made... Crackers and breads... scones.. Some of my favorite foods are using the fermented waste. Let me know how it goes. Unless you live near me.. then... It's really expensive and brewers wont talk to you. Hahahaha Just kidding.

@@TheBettencourts Thank you so much for all that! I am definitely going to see what I can get. We have a brewery not far from where I live. I feel like fermented grains would be great for rolls and crackers.

Love this story! We cannot opt out of trash even though most weeks I only put out a regular size grocery bag. Some weeks I clean out and get 2 bags 😂.

What an amazing testimony! I really need to do what she did, calculating the costs vs savings. Math is one aspect I am not very good at in life so I try to avoid it as much as possible lol, it's half the reason i cook from scratch and weigh with my eyes and hands 😂 Her overall message is great, too, pretty much Perseverance, do what you can when you can, never stop. Utilize everything you have available, don't rush the natural processes, reinforce the supports instead of focusing on aesthetics. So many people tend to ignore the fact that a pretty lawn and new siding won't save the house if the foundations are old and weak (though I think that might be a symptom of generations of city life, living became a competition rather than a survival instinct).
@TheBettencourts

You summed it up perfectly! ❤ Math is not my best subject either. But watching the savings add up.. I have worked myself out of a 'normal' job. 🤣😂

A really good video. Enjoy each one. Is there a way to keep ants out of the garden? While building our raised beds we are finding ant hills in the surrounding dirt. Im hoping to find something that won't be toxic to the garden plants. Any thoughts? Appreciate you very much. Have a blessed day 🙏 happy growing 🍅🌾🌷🌻🥦
