When I got my three baby rats, they were not weaned (I thought they were) and my two older rats were ABSOLUTELY EXCITED to see them, they almost jumped in the carrier xD they never really fought, they bonded extremely quickly (I think my two older rats craved company)

I used to own ferrets years ago (over a decade)... I stopped when we started raising a family with small children (ferrets + babies/toddlers aren't a good match)... now that I have teenagers I decided to get ferrets again and after personal experience and a lot of lessons learned plus new research, I broke out my old Double Ferret Nation cage (had it stored all these years for a "one day i will have ferrets again moment), cleaned it up really good and spent a month collecting all sorts of things for the cage and ferrets (bedding, liners, hammocks, blankets, food/water bowls, etc) and after over a month of prepping their environment and ferret proofing their play area in the home... THEN I got ferrets (well planned for family members... never impulse-buy pets).

I just got rats yesterday and I'm already inlove! I did a lot of research and everything was perfect.

I would appreciate if you do a video like that. Of course you don't need to do but youre the first person I know who uses a bonding jacket to bond with rats and I've watched tons of videos on rats haha.

We weren't prepared for how hyper Astrea would be. Nyx who is also young isnt so hyper. Poor Felicity my most active adult rat had all her energy wiped out by Astrea lol. I've got pictures where she refused to sleep next to her anymore she tucked herself into her blanket in a different basket. It was too cute. I don't think it's just Astrea being young though, Felicity was hyper but even she was like half the hyper lol. Nyx is like half as hyper as Felicity was. Talia we got at a year old and she's pretty mellow. Poor Astrea just has no chill lol. I will say this not with boys or girls have I ever had issues with baby rats being killed. The breeder I got Nyx and her brothers (for a friend) from never had those issues either. They didnt even fight with them really just lots of sniffing etc. Now they are older there are tiffs here and there but nothing severe just basically no one gets along 24/7 we cant expect them to lol. I've never tried it but I hear trying to introduce adults to adults is where things go badly. Even my friends grown boys didn't hurt Nyx's brothers and we were worried as males tend to be more persnickity. We listened to the breeder and just put them in. Of course watching for a long time to make sure no issues happen. They were perfect angels. Talia my two year old decided the babies were hers and she tried picking them up and putting them in her nest. We got Talia at a year old when we got Lucky as a baby (turned out to be a dwarf rat but a very badly bred dwarf rat and she didn't make it passed a year old lots of health issues). They sold her because she was sterile so I found it interesting that she did that with Lucky and Felicity when they were young and Astrea and Nyx when we got them. The babies do look frightened when she does this but she's just trying to cuddle them. They look all danger stranger when she does it lol.

I just got my three little ratty boys, and they are very cute! I’ve been researching by for close to a year now, and still have so much to know. They are really well socialized and are 7 weeks old. I just wanted to know what I should do to bond with them closer. I’ve watched a lot of videos but would like some more advice. Also I put a mark on the water bottle and will be checking it in a few hours, but I’m not sure if the water bottles are working well. I had one, but then added another bottle in fear of them being dehydrated in the morning. The new bottle doesn’t have a ball at the end and the are all having a hard time living the nozzle. Could I train them on how to use it or should I just use a ball nozzle?
