Crazy thing is everyone stocks up on dry goods, "just add water". My supply has 4x the canned veggies, why? There's water in a can of corn 😉 there's water in all canned veggies. Drain the water into your pan, add your dry goods and cook, then add the veggies or not. Save your stored water.

Most of the dates are "best by date". It is a way for company to avoid liability. Vitamin and pill type medicine are the same, they last forever just lose potency over time. You need to stock up on vitamin too. Vitamin can help your body function normally with reduced food varieties

Don’t rely solely on expiration dates. You can use your own judgment. Dried food lasts a lot longer than the date on the pkg. What I do not stock up on is oil, it will go rancid. Shortening and lard is better. I don’t buy lots of chips, cookies, snacks stuff. They go bad quickly.

@@Glenn056 Hey man, you shouldn’t mock. Have you been reading the news on this lately? This is a multifaceted problem that all points to potential food shortages. Fuel prices are insane right now and they will continue to go up; that directly affects farmers which will directly affect consumers. The war in Ukraine is contributing to this. Apparently, we have about 70 days worth of grain supply to deal with this. 70 days is not a lot.
