Christian von Koenigsegg oversees the final preparation of the first Koenigsegg One:1 Megacar ahead of The Geneva Motor Show. The One:1 attains a power to weight ratio of 1 horsepower to every 1 kg of curb weight through unprecedented weight saving measures.

I really do wish I could get your rims for my motorcycle. When are you guys going to start offering offering Keonizegg motorcycles 🏍? If I could get my hands on some motorcycle 🏍 rims the weight in rims Would save off seconds plus your experience in gas electric is the future. If this were ever attempted on F1 cycles it be a breakthrough in modern technology and historical in the Moto world ..

This man is INCREDIBLE,.Tiny little family run supercar maker living at the absolute cutting edge of bespoke technology. The Americans buy some 20 year old Lotus chop it in half throw in a randomly tuned V8 the tell they world they own and look how beautiful their car is? This guy drew his own car from scratch, then built it, then the most astonishing thing? developed one of the WORLDS most power yet clean engines to run it. Truly OUTSTANDING.

I agree that this man is incredible, but don't knock Americans for some non sense that you're pulling out of your ass. The engine in the venom is not "randomly tuned." If it is, well that's even more amazing because a random tune is making more horsepower than you and your donkey make, x100.

sugarsaint Whoa dude, chill. Now I shall take the neutral side here and weigh out some factual pros and cons of both the Koenigsegg here and the Hennessy. Hennessy Venom GT: Pros: -Better than a Veyron -Delicious V8 -Lotus chassis, therefore can turn nicely -270 mph in ~2 miles, less than a Veyron can reach its top speed, which is 5+ miles -Looks fucking awesome because the Lotus it was born from looks awesome -Price: Less than most hypercars within the 250+ mph range Cons: -Lotus chassis, therefore cannot qualify for top speed world record and counts as a modified Lotus -Looks like a Lotus Koenigsegg One:1 Pros: -Better than a Veyron -Delicious V8 -Advanced aerodynamics -Due to adv. aero, it would surpass the Hennessy in terms of top speed, possibly 275+ mph? -Possibly 270+ mph in ~2 miles, less than a Veyron can reach its top speed, which is 5+ miles -Original design Cons: -Slightly less usable for daily driving than its sibling, the Agera R (my favorite out of all of Koenigsegg's cars) -Price (duh) Both are awesome cars, so stop whining and shut the fuck up. This is a car YT channel, not some space-moon conspiracy or some shit.

Some of you may remember my last comment on an /INSIDE Koenigsegg video, telling Volkswagen Veyron fans to step up their shit talking game since the Agera R's power was featured on this show, and instead of finding anything new, or exciting from Bugatti, I find Mr. Christian von Koenigsegg, talking about his new car, a Megacar, producing damn near a megawatt of power, in a powerplant (pun intended) of a vehicle. Some of you hate on the aesthetic appeal of the car, failing to realize that while so much of CCX and Agera are present, it's lead to the evolution of this... beast. The CCX window curve, one of the lowest drag windshields on a production car, the agera's squatbar, which improves acceleration by stopping the rear from dropping on it's haunches, this doesn't just shatter the current hypercar mark of 1,000 hp; it throws a Evo XIII through it. I for one, cannot wait to see the shakedown videos.

This has become my favourite bit of /DRIVE channel, I could listen to this man for hours and hours... despite owning the company, he knows and understands every little bit of the car I have quite a decent job for my age, but man, what would I give just to mop the floors there, and be surrounded by all this beauty I respect all the effort other car manufacturers put in their flagship cars, but if I had the money, for me, there would be no other choice but Koenigsegg Please /DRIVE, make another /INSIDE KOENIGSEGG series

I have so much respect for Christian. I like the fact that he himself is an engineering genius who thinks of new things, designs new things and they actually work. I love how the cars have massive torque from very little rpm to the redline. I liek the fact that every little part on this car is totaaly unique and is not found on any other car. And one thing what I like the most is that everything is made in sweden - its truly original supercar.

I agree. Christian is about as close to a real-life Tony Stark, in that the CEO of the company is also one of the best engineers in the company (minus the playboy attitude and outlandish lifestyle).

Please not another term. I'm sorry, but it's silly. Even the line between supercar and hypercar can't be agreed on. As technology continues to develop the requirements for consideration in each tier should increase, the solution isn't simply adding more words.

Gorlacon It's clear in my mind, the difference between hypercar and supercar. I don't know why people don't see it the way I do. I've commented on this before in another /Drive video discussing the terminology between hypercar and supercar. Megacar, however, is now anything with more than a megawatt of power, by definition.

I first found out about koenigsegg back in 2007 and since then it's been my favorite car make, learned about the company and completely fell in love with it's cars. Agera model ( of course Agera R and one:1) to me is by far the most beautiful car to ever set wheels on the planet. They continue to alway amuse me with their creations. What astonishes me about this car is that so much effort has gone into making it complete. Its one thing to make a car fast in a straight line *cough* hennessey* but this has the aero to truly match a gt1 car, along with active suspension I would not be surprised if it had better handling then a GT1 car… I envy the future owners of this car, and like always christian von koenigsegg (and horatio pagani) are the modern da vinci's of the car world. You got to respect & admire Christian von Koenigsegg.. It takes nerves of steel & balls of brass to not only jump in the ring with Ferrari, Lamborghini , Pagani & Porsche Etc. But he is also able to go 12 rounds & win against them with limited resources & an even more limited budget & it's for the simple fact that he loves cars... People really need to focus on the videos subject matter & stick to commenting on it & if you want to bash or praise the manufacturer or modifier of another automobile go to their channel or to that video post & do it..

I have so much looked forward to this new venture inside Christian's business. The man is a genius, frankly, and I use that term extremely sparingly I assure you. The last series was a peerless example of how to communicate engineering solutions in layman's terms. I'd prefer it more so if Koenigsegg would keep the One:1 out of the pointless top speed dick swinging contests just because it will be compared by idiots to an overrated garbage tuner car and I do not want this masterpiece to be associated in any way with a glorified Exige. Just unleash this beast round the ring and let the top speed be an added bonus rather than the main focus. :D

He always has been. Back in the late 90's (98/99) I emailed them back then and asked for high res pictures, and actually got them. They have always been very proud of the car and development. I'm surprised Wikipedia doesn't have pictures or writeup of the earlier versions.

tjay84 You got it all wrong. Carbon fiber bends very well. It is just very stiff. It is very flexible, but it does not like impacts. It has 5 times the stiffness to weight over for example titanium and that is why it is used. Takes up less space to create the same stiffness plus it weighs less than metals.

Instant thumbs up for this vid! The first series was simply great and this did not disappoint either. What I really love about Koenigsegg is that they operate on a real high tech engineering level but keep it all more like a family company, which makes it for me easy to sympathise with them, in contrast to McLaren for example who come off a little cold (but build excellent cars none the less).

Chriss Harris has talked about how much he enjoys the Veyron. I'm sure it's an astonishing car. I've only heard him talk about the Koenigsegg once at this year's Geneva Motor Show. A little company like Koenigsegg is producing something that will likely surpass what the VW Group could muster. Chris, drive the thing.

I got a chance to get up close and personal with this car for about an hour and I don't think anyone can convince me this isnt the most beautiful car ever made. It is so simple and yet so complex and the carbon fiber plus the paint makes for a totally different look than almost any other car I have ever seen.

Love Christan's openness about the whole production process. One can see he's as excited about the project as everyone else after reading the specs. Saw the One:1 in the flesh at Geneva, looks great for a pre-production showcar. Can't wait to hear first impressions of people putting 1360 bhp through the rear tyres with their right foot. The only car to beat a Koenigsegg would be another Koenigsegg. The One:1 technology went into the Agera SRN car , which can be seen on other You Tube sites and is now for sale in England for over £4.2 million pounds.

Koenigsegg is about building the best four wheeled speed machine with no compromise. The difference there is kinda cool in itself because no matter what, they're both kicking ass at what they love to do. and God Damn that's a beautiful machine...

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is no longer the king in top speed. Since February it has been the Hennessey Venom GT with 270.49MPH on a 3.2 mile track. However the One:1 is more powerful than the Venom GT
